Eh I'm okay with the meandering plot really. It's not compelling beyond Penny as a character and watching her try and fail at life is fun enough to read 200 pages or so. For me at least, that's a very personal thing though. Not everyone likes the plotlessness of this comic for sure. I will have to disagree on the art. Ota doesn't do that best action scenes in this, but it is all designed and laid out well.

To me it felt like they wanted to do something like Scott Pilgrim but didn't know how to effectively mix the wacky action with the grounded relationship stuff. The front half is much too grounded in comparison with the latter part of the book.

The Terrible Trio should have been a simple weird side plot that she has to overcome so she could establish a sense of security in her new home but it escalated into a weird organized children's crime bracket bent on ruining her life. Story should have generally been her adjusting to her new unorthodox lifestyle and overcoming the problems they come with.
