"Coco" is coming out a few months after cars, might be good. Day of the dead stuff is always nice to look at, at the very least, the book of life was worth the price of admission for the visuals alone.

Everyone in my family loved the first Cars movie for the whole Route 66 aspect of it. Most of them skipped Cars 2 because they weren't interested in the whole secret agent stuff they had going on. This movie seems like it's going to go back to what everyone liked about the first movie so there's that I suppose.
I liked Cars 2 more than Cars because at least it didn't have a boring, by-the-books romance plot. It was the same love story we've seen in movies a billion times.
I haven't seen either more than once though. I'll pirate Cars 3 once it comes out on blu-ray I guess.

I liked the first Cars. Problem is, it's hard enough to sell the idea of a sentient car because nobody wonders "Is my car secretly smart?"
Cars 2 sucks for several reasons, but mainly because they overplayed their hand. "The talking cars are super spies now!" is just cringeworthy as a concept

From the stuff I saw at D23 it looked like normal human kid in pic related was in a town full of painted day of the dead style skeletons so definitely not going wooden puppet. Didn't look too interesting to me though.

Either it's going to get shelved or it's going to get pushed waaayyyyy the fuck back. These movies take years to animate. If they haven't even finished the script yet, it will take a very long time for us to see it.
