Never but I did read this thing once.

I was really into Red Hood after the movie. So I go on Tumblr looking at different picture. One Tumblr is dedicated to Red Hood, turns out it some girls blog thing. As I'm reading it she talks about crying over Red Hood and going over to her mom I the kitchen to hug while crying. The mom then ask "is it that comic book character you like?" Girl just nods and continues to cry.

From what I remember Kid Loki was engineered by King Loki as a stepping stone to his own reincarnation, Kid Loki was killed but the next stage of the evolution didn't play ball the way King Loki wanted him to, so now we have current Loki who may or may not turn evil one day and who may or may not be the Loki from Aaron's ANAD Thor.

That's King Loki, who is New Loki, but older. But throught King Loki going back in time, meddling with his own past, he ended up causing New Loki to become the God of Stories, which King Loki never did, so their timelines basically split.

Yeah but CWII hasn't even started in Uncanny yet. It's still on the Hanktron arc (which is honestly preferable to any CWII bullshit but mandated tie ins to Events is what Marvel lives on).

So they've still got to wrap up Hanktron, go through the motions with Civil War, so Voodoo probably won't get any real spotlight until the end of the year.

Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run, I at least tear up once just a little every time I read it through.
Other time's I'll just outright cry.
And it's not just one scene, there's a couple of them that can really get to me.
From the sacrifices, to the love and wholehearted acceptance, to the reunions and redemptions, to the giving that one minor villian comforting words as he dies.
And even the corny ending for one character, however short lived, was just so heartbreaking it's unbearable.

>>
>>84078389

What's the context of this? Did everyone really die and ended the marvel universe?
>>
>>84094073
Yes.

Everyone.

That was the final collisions between the Marvel universe and the Ultimate universe.

Tony Stark and Steve Rodgers died fighting and bickering, grappling each other, while a helicarrier crashed into them.
>>
>>84094148

Why were marvel heroes fighting one another? What was the big bad guy?
>>
>>84094165
Tony had his morality reversed by the AXIS event. The world was ending, Steve just felt like closing some loose ends.

The forces of both universes were trying to fight for their own survival. It didn't work.

Two life-rafts survived. Some others survived in other ways.

It was caused by, I dunno, I honestly didn't read the last three issues of Secret Wars, it was delayed so much. Some flaw in the multiverse.
>>
>>84094165
The bigbad was the extra-universal alien species of The Beyonders who were crashing parallel universes together to destroy the infinite multiverse that they had grown unhappy with.
And Tony Stark, along with a conspiracy of supersmart superheroes, had erased that information from Steve Rogers brain without his consent, and that pissed Cap off because by the time he found out (again) there was nothing to do about it.

I don't think so. They're a pre-existing concept used in the past Secret Wars "events" and so far they seem motivated by being so mentally alien and so unreasonably powerful that they don't really care about anyone or anything.
And when Marvel wants to play ironic with the fan's opinions they just mention the in-universe internet in dialog.
>>
>>84094200
The Beyonders just felt like ending the multiverse so they introduced Molecule Man in each universe and designed them to be bombs that when blown up would destroy the entire universe.

Doom teamed up with 616 Molecule Man and figured out that by killing the Molecule Men of different realities before they were due to blow up they accelerated the death of that universe, causing the Incursions

Doom started a multiversal cult of Black Swans and made himself into their God Rabum Alal and they started helping him kill worlds.

Doctor Strange started the Black Priests and was also going around destroying worlds

Sunspot sent a team of Avengers out into the multiverse to find the source of the Incursions, they eventually found the Beyonders and managed to kill one and turn the other into a tree. They all died

Dr. Doom and Strange teamed up and somehow killed the rest of the Beyonders. It wasn't very clear how. Doom took all of their power and became a God and created Battleworld, saving what parts of the Multiverse he could.
>>
>>84094439
Sunspot's suicide strike team had one survivor: "Unworthy" Thor, the irony abounds with how that went down.

Dr.DOOM! realised that the Beyonders were constrained by temporal reality, they were basically gods but they still existed within time, he then used a large number of Molicule Mans to suicide-bomb the timespace continuum that the Beyonders were occupying, and then used a device he created to steal Beyonder power. Strange was basically his sidekick through all of this and I don't know what he contributed.

As someone who read all of Strange in the past year and so has it fresh in their mind.... yeah, it's not a very "Dr Strange" feeling story. Very uncreative antagonists, makes up its own founding rules for Marvel magic, really grim and defeatist in a far drabber way than other grim or defeatist Strange stories have been. The whole Magic vs Science thing itself has been done as far back as the 60s but still retained an air of fantasy.
I think that the basic problem is that Strange requires a subtlety of ideas to pull off and that Aaron is one of the least subtle men in all of comics. He was given the keys to the most limitlessly creative corner of the Marvel universe and his very first thought was LET'S FUCKING TORCH IT ALL WHO CAN PUNCH HARDER. Power to him, he likes things glum & gritty. Just think that energy could be better been spent on an Image original or maybe Hellblazer than Strange first ongoing in 20 fucking years.

This is why I am not liking the new Strange run. THERE was limitless possibilities and all we are getting is the first THor storyarc 2.0. The fuck? Can he do anything right? This is the same fucker who broke up the Xmen when it didn't narratively make sense because of "muh xavier school nostalgia"

>grim and defeatist?
Is it? The Emprikul are really silly and ridiculous, every time one of those EVA-looking motherfuckers says something it's hilarious, and Stephen spends most of his time running around Indiana Jonesing for some goodgood magic.

And even then it's still the first arc. Aaron seems like he just wanted to try something different (and drown the arc in cameos for minor characters), but especially with what the sphereboys have been finding in Strange's house, squo seems like it's coming back soon and weird as shit.

I'm definitely enjoying it.

>The bigbad was the extra-universal alien species of The Beyonders who were crashing parallel universes together to destroy the infinite multiverse
The Beyonders weren't responsible for the Incursions. Doom was.
>>
>>84098489
Weren't they responsible for the Blue ones?
>>
>>84100496
Yeah, but they didn't cause those incursions. The blue incursions were just their mapmakers trying to use the incursions to track down the source of everything going to shit. The blue incursions also weren't destroying universes since the Map Makers would always destroy the Earth they're coming from before moving onto a new one.

The whole incursions shit is because:
>Beyonders decide to blow up the entire multiverse all at once
>Doom gets told by Valeria "you can't win, figure out how not to lose."
>Doom then goes "I've got it! The Beyonders can't destroy the multiverse if I DO IT FIRST!"
And then Doom proceeds to destroy the multiverse himself before the Beyonders get a chance to. The Beyonders wanted to stop the incursions just as much as anyone else since they were getting in the way of their experiment.

I wonder how Wade can go on knowing that he's life is constantly shattered just for our amusement and money.

Like with the whole Secret Wars and Battleworld thing. His universe was destroyed just for our entertainment and he's aware of that.

I cried bitch tears when I first read it. Requiem is what cape comics should be. God like feats with a human heart. Anti-Hickman writing.

Yes, but the real end result was basically "it was all a dream" besides one or two minor quirks (Miles and Maker are now in 616).

Secret Wars outside the tie ins were sound and fury signifying nothing.

Okay...why did Doom want to destroy the multiverse before the Beyonders? I'm trying to get my head around this.

What about the "shading the apocalypse" Earths that did stuff like blow up their Earth while sending humanity to another planet? Why did Doom kill those universes?

Compared to classic Strange? Yeah. It really fuckin' is.

Every universe had a Molecule Man. The MM were The Beyonders' bombs set to detonate all at once and taking the multiverse with them. Doom was going to try and kill every Molecule Man before that happened but it was impossible since there was an infinite number of universes. He had to destroy enough of it to make the amount of Molecule Men left a more manageable amount.

So Doom's plan was:
>kill 99.999999999999999% of the multiverse but at least a tiny sliver will survive

The Beyonders' plan:
>kill 100% of the multiverse so nothing survives

And it all worked out in the end. Doom saved just enough to create Battleworld. Then with the power of the Beyonders, Reed used what little Doom saved as a basis to remake everything he could.
>>
>>84104348
?

Doom did what Reed couldn't to preserve reality, but couldn't steward it as god-king.

Reed was needed to remake the universe, which Doom couldn't do.

It was a great end to all of Hickman's previous work on FF and Avengers.

The problem was that while the Earths were the specific contact points where universes collided, even without the Earth, the multiversal structure was still collapsing, it just bought a little time.

>"'E = MC^2' is how I plead!"
>"Not a blood altar or witch's cauldron in sight!"
>"You should have married an alchemist"
>Literally anything the eyebots ever say

Dude, what. This arc is silly as shit.
>>
>>84104569
But wouldn't a piece of infinity still be infinity? I guess you just have to use some suspension of disbelief.

So he starts killing universes early...so he could control a tiny bit of universes. I'll ignore how an invincible race of Gods didn't murder him the moment he started killing universes early. I get Hickman likes Doom a lot so I'm not surprised the Beyoners jobbed to him.

What I'm not getting is how killing 99 percent of the worlds allowed him to save that 1 percent. Couldn't he have saved that 1 percent first then let the rest of the multiverse die? Is there something I'm missing?

>>84104576
>Just bought a little time

But without an Earth contact point and without a molecule man wouldn't those Earths be safe? Or was it that they still had a molecule man?

If the problem was the molecule men why didn't Doom just kill them instead of start killing the multiverse? I mean if you're able to kill a universe you should be able to kill a molecule man. Or is it that molecule men can't die unless their universes die? In that case why wouldn't you teleport them out of the universe into another universe and then kill them counter-Infinity Gauntlet style?
>>
>>84104785
Ok, so

Basic state: Multiverse is A-ok

Then, a Molecule Man in one of the universes died, destroying that universe.

Universes starting sliding into the gap left and colliding, the point of contact being Earth. When the Earths collide, the Universe is destroyed, and so the gap becomes larger and the collisions accelerate. As the collisions accelerate, the lifespan of the multiverse gets shorter and shorter.

So, destroying a Universe's Earth prevents it from being destroyed in a collision (incursion), but doesn't stop the fact that the structure of the multiverse is unraveling anyway. Averting the incursion does stop time from being taken away from the lifespan of the universe, though.

So, the Beyonders are trying to end the multiverse through MM bombs.

Doom and Strange are trying to A. kill MM, B. destroy Earths.

Ironically, killing the MM is what leads to the first Universe being destroyed in the first place, setting the process in motion.

Does that make sense?

That was the core of Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe and Deadpool kills literature.
He got sick of it and kill everyone including Bendis and company in the "real world".
