There are people on this board that won't admit Ennis is a phenomenal writer
>Constantine waking up and realizing his reunion with Kit was just a dream
>The ending to "The Slavers"
>"Valley Forge, Valley Forge"
>"Long Cold Dark"
>All of "My War Gone By"
>"Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker"
>Butcher shouting at Hughie to Kill him
>Cassiday's shady past
>"One Man's War"
>All of Hitman
>starting your appeal by praising 'it was all a dream'

Definitively one of my favorite writers out there, but the man hasn't really done much, and what he's done can be quite difficult for most people. Take "Crossed" as an example, first volume was totally written by him, and it shows, the overall plot was great but all the gore-porn fucked it up, and now it's a gore-porn franchise with no limits whatsoever. "Preacher" still is his best.

He's good for "down to earth" writing, and competent as all hell, but I have never seen him as a "phenominal" writer.
Sorry.
I trust him to make something worth buying but I've never really expected him to wow me.
That awkward moment where Ennis understands and writes Superman better than anyone in DC right now.
Ennis is just a fedora-wearing edgelord who can't write for shit

That is sad. How can someone not get "decent guy with god-like powers" ? It's so simple.
But it doesn't surprise me in the least that the guy that can write the worst that humanity can be can also write what it looks like when it's good.
