A) that's florida, dude
B) things don't happen with different frequencies, the news just picks up on whatever will rustle your jimmies the most. reading it was your first mistake.

What's really terrifying is that people have started to see NILE CROCODILES in Florida. The Nile crocodile makes a Florida gator look like a cute little kitten. That's an entire species of butchers and maneaters.

Apparently they were from Nebraska and couldn't grasp the concept that every body of natural water in Florida contains gators
>>
Hurr durr we ain't got gators in Nebraska and dis is Didney there's nothing unsafe here. Nigga there are feral cats at Disney who could kill your child with a scratch and an infection. There are swans at Disney that are mean as fuck and could break your kid's bones with their wings. There are ALLIGATORS YOU DUMB FUCK BECAUSE DISNEY IS IN FLORIDA DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD NEAR THE WATER ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT WHEN SUCH ANIMALS ARE ACTIVE ASHJSHJKAHSKJAHSJK
>>
>>83794365
>Nigga there are feral cats at Disney who could kill your child with a scratch and an infection.

That's Disneyland rather then Disney World. Apparently they're all descendants of a colony of cats they found living inside the hollow shell of the castle in the 50s when they were looking into giving it a finished interior for the Sleeping Beauty walkthrough.
>>
>>83794387
Disney World has feral cats too.
All of Florida has feral cats.

Never heard about them in Florida's parks before though. Between how vast the resort is and all the predator-laden swampland surrounding the guest facilities (and sometimes you even get live alligators coming into the Rivers of America), they might as well not exist.

Disneyland's feral cats are pretty much sanctioned parts of the pest control. They've hidden cat shelters in obscure isolated parts of the park and leave out food. Disneyland cats pop up in all the major fanblog photo updates at least once a month. Also, Disneyland's a more urban setting and thus safer for them.

I heard the gator actually came up on shore, where they were sitting or something, and dragged the kid away. Father tried to fight it off but couldn't.

Just looked at a newer article; apparently the kid was in the water but the parents weren't (which might be worse than if they'd all gone in).

Kid would've drowned himself even if there wasn't a gator nearby. These parents shouldn't be allowed to raise another child.

I see your point with the parents, but maybe you should feel some pity for the kid?
>>
>>83798670
Nah. Even if I, tried I couldn't. Dying before being raised by incompetent parents is usually a blessing anyway.

I'd like to know why this is happening. I tried to do a little research:
>Scientists noted in the study that in the last decade large quantities of Nile crocodiles have been imported from countries such as South Africa and Madagascar. These crocodiles have been put on display at places such as Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida.
>But it's likely that Florida's exotic pet trade has introduced these creatures into the wild, according to researchers.

So wait, I know absolutely shit about DisneyWorld/DisneyLand. I've never wanted to go there and I've never looked up anything about them, but they have crocs at Animal Kingdom? All the "kid snatched up" articles made it sound like the kid got taken outside the resort, not inside.
>>
>>83799327

Kid was taken by a gator, not a croc. Gators are native to Florida and can be found in a lot of their fresh water systems. Nile crocodiles are an invasive species that (so far) are not recorded as attacking anybody in Florida. They were only recently discovered to have bred in the wild there.
>>
>>83799327
The Grand Floridian Resort is one of the Disney hotels connected by monorail to the Magic Kingdom, so yes, it was on Disney property.

>>83798252
From the articles I read, it sounds like the kid didn't go much further than knee-deep water, so if I had to guess what probably happened was that the kid was that kid was playing right along the shore, parents assumed it was okay because it wasn't swimming, and then the kid splashing around attracted a gator's attention.

Still, shame such a little kid had to die because of his idiotic parents.

I would say they are not that stupid, but then again they let their child go in the water at night in Florida despite all the signs saying don't go in the water. Which is why they will lose Disney had signs and that's all they needed
>>
>>83803055
He was two years old, you fedora wearing edge lord. He had no fucking clue what he was doing.

I feel awful for the kid and his sister, and I actually have some semblance of sympathy for the parents. One mistake and now your 2 year old son is dead, drowned by a fucking alligator. Even if they were dumb, everything they knew switched in the span of a day or two.
