It's missing the "parents strongly cautioned" robotic voice warning...or was that just for the action block?

Old Adult Swim was GOAT. I just love everything about the presentation.
>>
>>83756406
Nah I definitely saw it before Home Movies started the block off on sunday nights
>>
I think I actually remember watching these shows that night! I was just a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed 16 year old, totally in awe by this strange, unique 'after-hours' block. My favorite show was either ATHF or Harvey Birdman.

Man, when did Adult Swim end up going so wrong in the last 15 years?

And while I'm at it, when did I go wrong as well?

-Spanky

BTW, does anyone know how long Adult Swim had been on the air by September 2nd? 8 weeks?
>>
>>83757939
Sept 2nd was their first broadcast
>>
Dope back when AS was the shit
>>
>>83756406
I don't think that started until the action block began a year or so later.

That was the first night. And it was only on Sundays and Thursdays then.

If you look up the Home Movies ep "Law and Boarder" on youtube, that warning proceeds it

kkkkk

I remember when this block premiered... I hadn't been 9 for even a month and was thrilled I was finally old enough to get my own food from the buffet without an adult accompanying me. Surely I was old enough for adult swim, right? So I continued to watch, terrified that I would be busted at any second by my dad waking up in the middle of the night to piss. But he never did! And I was safe.
>>
And how many of these shows even even repeat anymore?
>>
I actually remember that shit. Barely remember the first day because, WHOA, something new was coming to Cartoon Network and I didn't know what! Ten it came out and me being little, I didn't know what it was. All I knew was that I was wasting precious "Skinemax" after dark footage, so I changed it.

>Home Movies
God that shit sucked. Remember when AS aired it as a toonami leadin a few years back and it nearly tanked the whole block?
>>
>>83758525
Bebop would probably still be rerunning if Toonami wasnt shortened. Home Movies was last seen in 2013 when it horrendously flopped at 9pm. Space Ghost was last seen in April 2014, when it celebrated its 20th with 30 minutes of it every weekday at 4:00am and a 4.5 hour marathon on April Fools Day. Birdman and Sealab were last seen in September last year, airing almost its entire run at 4am. Dunno about Brak. Aqua Teen still airs every day, even at 8:30pm on Saturday

>Outlaw star

Oh shit I gotta watch that

it still has the painted swimsuit

Huh haven't seen that in forever
>>

>>83758420
On further recollection, I do remember that in fact, it debuted about a week before 9/11... me and my friends were really freaking out over its debut at the time

Ah well, not the first time I've made an idiot of myself on the Superhighway. I'll never forget the time when I broke the Internet by typing "Wikipedia" into Wikipedia. They banned me from there and now I research everything in the library.

But, I do distinctly remember when [as] was only on Sundays! Now those were the days... It was when a newspaper cost a nickel and every Saturday night, I'd go to the bar and...

*nurse zaps him with cattle prod*

This memory now, she ain't what it used to be...

I'm actually quite glad, and confused at the same time that this happened, like the AS lineup from the first night, to various clips and eps of CN and early Toonami shows. Makes me wonder what they're doing over at the Williams St. office that they come up with this kind of stuff.
>>
>>83759125
I think CN may join the nostalgia train and launch a throwback CN/AS block akin to TeenNick's The Splat and Freeform's Disney Channel block. Though I seriously doubt it'd be on Adult Swim proper

Anyone think something like this might go up on like Boomerang.
I would love that. Might honestly even convince me to get a premium cable package.

Their player sucks but this is cool

Well I believe that player is 15 years old
>>
>>83759739
Ugh one can only hope save me a shitload of time making throwback playlists for myself to watch

>Man, when did Adult Swim end up going so wrong in the last 15 years?

Around 07-ish when they started greenlighting so much Tim and Eric shit and transitioned over to more live stuff.
>>
>>83755078
This really takes me back.

Thinking back, I don't think I caught Adult Swim the very first time it aired. I think I must've caught it on the second weekend, because I distinctly remember the "Predator" episode of Sealab 2021 to be the first one I watched, and the first episode of Cowboy Bebop I caught was the one that introduce Faye.

Fun times.

Tim and Eric were fine and still one of the best shows they aired just every live action show tried too hard to copy that type of humor after that (except Heart She Holler which is the Twin Peaks inspired bad acid trip I always wanted)
