The Speedforce is literally (literally) described as the power of movement. It's the life-blood of the story universe. Movement as in moving the plot along.
The Speedforce is just another way to say plot device that is tangentially related to going fast. So yes, it can be used as an excuse for everything.

Yeah. I like to think that their conscious mind checks out, and their subconscious just keeps them going when they run to another country and shit.
