I have come to the conclusion that the Powerpuff Girls anime adaptation, PPGZ, is a better show than the 2016 reboot.
The biggest reason is because, although the anime has a very different feel than from the original, it stays true consistently to what is wants to be, a parody of the classic "magical girl" anime genre (Mahoujo Shoujo).

Did it take you this long to come to that conclusion.
PPGZ gets too much hate. They made it their own thing. Did people want everything to be exactly the same as original?

Yes, I had been too busy to start watching it and I finally got around to watching all episodes out so far.
I don't particularly dislike the reboot, but I don't like it either.

Is there some advantage in safety, cost, or maintenance?
In some ways it is. It has great music, great animation, and the episode where the Dynamo Z accidentally goes to the original PPG universe even shows they cared about how it fits into continuity.
