Haven't seen new EPs yet, waiting til the TV priemere
There are 5 episodes left. Hater was confirmed by one of the team to only be in 2 of them, The Robomechabotatron and The End of the Galaxy.
I don't know if this is a widely held or controversial opinion, but episodes without Hater just aren't as good for me. Like Craig said, he's the real protagonist of the show, and he also happens to be the most entertaining, most relatable, and, surprisingly, even the coolest character. His dynamic with Peepers really grew into something fun and endearing, and Wander is at his best when they have each other to play off of. There's even Peepers and Sylvia interaction, which I really love.
You lose all of this when Hater isn't in the episode, and these episodes sometimes just don't feel up to snuff. There are, of course, exceptions, and these episodes got better in season 2, for the most part, but the show is almost over and its real star only has 2 more appearances left to make. It's sad to think about.

Man, both episodes this week were really solid. Both were great, but for different reasons.
The Search for Captain Tim
This one was just fun. Alien references all over the place, this was the ultimate love letter to the series. This and The Pet are pretty much mandatory watches for anyone even remotely a fan of Alien, or space horror in general. Plus, that confirmation that Tim indeed loves Hater was great

This one was just plain cool. The atmosphere and the music is very entertaining, and the Phantomimes are top tier designs. It wasn't really all that scary, but it really resonated with me regardless. This is perfect halloween bait.

I couldn't agree more with you, anon. Hater is the best character, hands down, and the best episodes have Him and Peepers in it. His episode tonight was excellent and I have to say, considerably better than the second one, he was great in it. And I love Wander but he's 10x better when paired with Hater.Hater and Wander better get some solid alone time in at least one of those episodes.

My theory for the finale: Hater's going to prove so instrumental in defeating Dominator (probably by defending the rebels on accident) that the survivors end up nominating him as ruler of the galaxy out of adoration. Wander repeats the "Never hurts to help" mantra and takes off for parts unknown on top of Sylvia, while singing a ditty to himself.The final storyboard credit is Hater sitting on a throne, wondering what to do next. Peepers lists off all of his responsibilities as ruler of the galaxy--collecting taxes, creating laws, laying down infrastructure--and Hater wonders when they can go back to conquering planets. Peepers tells him there's no point since all the planets are under his rule now. Cue childish whining.

Wander makes it a point to never use his hat should it not be for anyone that isn't Sylvia nor himself, or if it's not him doing something like using it for storage. Look, you're entitled to your opinion but I strongly disagree.
The whole "whacky character, straight man" is a classic for a reason and why it's continuously recycled. Think about it: Bugs and Daffy is a good example, and like one of you anons said, Spongebob and Squidward. But how Wander and Hater do such a great job of it, is that not only is one incredibly cheerful and upbeat and the other is angry and bitter, but you have Wander who is the "hero" and Hater who is the villain. Usually, a hero and a villian are at each other's wits, but what makes it different in their relationship is that Wander doesn't want to necessarily "stop" Hater, he wants to be his friend and help him be happier, and it's refreshing. That's why I don't think it falls exactly into that "recycled" quota. The best episodes have Hater having to deal with Wander, or his frustrations with Wander, in some way.Hater just makes every episode better, though.

Often shows just throw it out there just because it's a cliche and barely put any effort into making the scene their own.
Even the usual subversions of the scene are now well known, everyone knows how it goes on, so instead they just tried to make it as crazy as possible.
I for one hope there's no third season, just let this show end on its high note, dominator defeated, hater accepts he's not so bad, wander leaves towards another galaxy.
Easily hater could be important in beating dominator and saving the galaxy, making him a public anti hero and earning him the love and admiration he so desperately needs.

It's the most utterly obnoxious cartoon I've seen in years. It's 2005 era Deviantart in cartoon form. One of Star's spells is literally "NARWHAL BACON," ripped right out of a DA signature. As someone who likes both shows I find this immensely debatable. Star's design I like better, but from an artistic point of view, Wander's is more brilliant for being both beneficial to animation while defying several artistic principles yet coming out better as a result. You also gotta be nuts if you think S1B Star looks better than Wander's animation after that studio change.
Jokes? Yeah I actually think Star has a lot of better ones but the show seriously does take its time to build up its repertoire there. Wander's strength has never really lied in those at all to be fair though. Sometimes the cute moments or longer scenes (such as TAAAAG) are already one big joke in their one way.
