I know, that was weak, because Spock had a point and peter chimp out, Gwen and the rest just stand there instead of immediately trying to go down on Spock.

>Good
Peter points out Spock leadership is abominable, and shows him the results, as everyone stares at him judgmentally, spock shuts up and steps down.
>Better
Everyone goes down on Spock, pins him down with webbing, Spock proceeds to tell Peter he is weak, and his supposed morals are only giving the enemy the upper hand, Peter webs his mouth and proceeds to give Spock a proper talk about what being a hero means, and why his method is only making things worse. Spider-men never go down in front like idiots, they use their power and intellect to save the day. Something the superior spider-man should had realized instead of sacrificing people like pawns.

You fucking nailed it. The fact that Peter doesn't do any of this and instead just loses his temper and punches SpOck (and the fact that Peter fans apparently loved that scene?) is one of the most annoying things about that scene, and it could have been handled so much better by any writer who had a glimmer of talent in their body.

>>
>>83540872
>its fucking with molecular bonding
Yeah, which is controlled via his mind, since he has to willingly and actively choose to cling to something.

Which basically makes it a low level telekenetic ability, since he's actively pulling surfaces/objects toward his body with his mind.
>>
>>83540882
>The previous and spock actually learns something from all this
They actually don't. Spock forgets everything that happens to him as soon as he returns to his present time.

Peter learns, literally, nothing from anything that happened in Spider-Verse. He forgets it as soon as the story is over and never bothers to bring it up again.
>>
>>83538180
As long as he's on drawing and not character design

He's fucking amazing technically but he doesn't have an ounce of creativity
>>
>>83541285
>pulling surfaces/objects toward his body with his mind.
except that isnt whats happening at all, it causes him to not slide off them via the physical interaction of matter, he isnt using some esoteric mind force to push himself onto a wall.

>he has to willingly and actively choose to cling to something
also not true, he's had shit stick to him while unconscious or not focusing before. hell it happens like that right here >>83540738
>>
>>83538180
Because they only accept webcomic artists now.
>>
>>83541420
>also not true
Except its explicitly stated to be true. He holds his mask on with his wall crawling ability a number of times, for example.

>hell it happens like that right here >>83540738
You realize that he's -choosing- to have the kid cling to his back, right?

I know, I know, things like "following a story" or "reading comprehension" are really challenging. But with a little more practice, you can do it too, one day!.
>>
>>83541285
>Yeah, which is controlled via his mind, since he has to willingly and actively choose to cling to something.

That's like saying walking is telekinesis.
>>
>>83541512
The difference is that you do that subconsciously. Peter has to ACTIVELY and do so. The same is true for detaching. If he doesn't actively release his grip, for example, the surface will break underneath him. Peter will still have chunks of whatever he was previously attached to still cling to whatever body surface was touching it.
>>
>>83540265
This is one of the only cosplayers I've ever seen get it right.
>>
>>83541503
>You realize that he's -choosing- to have the kid cling to his back, right?
no, he didnt even realize she was stuck to him until after the damn building fell down.

>He holds his mask on with his wall crawling ability a number of times
active use of the power doesnt mean it cant activate automatically.
>>
>>83541564
Just because he's doing something by thinking about it doesn't mean it's telekinesis. He's just flexing a different muscle to do what he needs to do.
>>
>>83541597
>no, he didnt even realize she was stuck to him until after the damn building fell down.
He literally puts her there himself. What the hell are you even talking about?
>>
>>83541371

>>
>>83541629

>>
>>83541708
see >>83541222
>>
>>83541770
see fucking what? just because The Other made the wallcrawl power total body it didnt change how it works fundamentally. It isnt purely active use by Peter, he can stick to shit without meaning too, and it isnt telekinesis since it works by upping the friction of his body when its in contact with an object.
>>
>>83541860
>see fucking what?
The fact that Peter has ALWAYS had the ability to have things cling to ANY part of his body. That wasn't a new thing in The Other.

>It isnt purely active use by Peter

petes wall crawling was never JUST his hands and feet though. One of his signature moves was to stick his back to a wall and just kinda hang off it only using his back.

Eventually we never really saw much of the sticking so people assumed it was just hands and feet though which is stupid. ASM #365 is where he says his powers have ramped up in stickitude and he can keep his mask on and shit but he'd always had full body stick if you read older shit.

Basically the whole moral behind Spider-Girl was the next generation improving upon the last. Spider-Man was motivated to become a superhero because a mistake he made caused someone he loved to die, and that death spurred him into heroism.

But Mayday became Spider-Girl for a different reason, to protect someone she loved, and was able to keep them from dying. This was explicitly pointed out and the major theme of her introduction, and meant to contrast the daughter learning from the mistakes of the father.

And then Slott got his hands on the character and literally the FIRST thing he did was kill Peter off, because in his own words he felt that Mayday couldn't really be a proper hero without something traumatizing like a death to spur her into it.

As a Mayday fan it was beyond infuriating to watch, and it was the event that made me stop purchasing Marvel comic books permanently.

I don't think you take it seriously enough. Im not fuming out their in the real world and it's not affecting my everyday life but Im not gonna support a company on a whim or out of some false sense of brand loyalty.

Id rather see the characters I support dissapear in the ether than killed off for shock value. Im not gonna buy all their appearances if they're not written the way they should be.

Mayday lost the entire family aspect of her character, which was the major thing, just to get a throwaway "revenge is bad" panel. Not even a full page. A single panel. But a pig she barely talked too said he was proud of her and that makes it work?

For all the shit we give bad writers there's another party who's just as guilty for allowing this shit and it's us the consumers. Simply put, if we stop buying bad comics, they'll stop making bad comics.

I actually stopped buying after SpOck ended. The run started interesting but soon fell too much into it's own cliches imo, the ending was abrupt and boring (Goblin's been master-planning shit for a dozen of issues... and his whole plan was to vandalize NY for a night or two?) and while i was happy to see Peter back i was like "i bet now the next bunch of issues will be about fixing the ultimately pointless event that just happened"

So i do buy the next issue, just in case something interesting happened, and ta-da, last panel is Octopus "alive" and well twirling his non-existent evil-guy moustache from inside the robot thingie

I was like "fuck comics", the gears of the big corporate machine called "Big 2" were becoming too obvious for me to actually enjoy reading shit monthly, buying a floppy was becoming too much of a gamble. Better keep those 10 euros circa to buy someday a trade or something instead of wasting them on 3-4 potentially disappointing floppies, right?
Then a few weeks/months later i read about Spider-verse. I thought "it could catch my interest but i bet it will be stupid since Slott's still around". Then i got told later that, indeed, it was mostly stupid, and everything i could've been interested in, like Mayday, was butchered by hack writing
>>
>>83546001

Okay see what I don't get is why Slott was so insistent on it. Like It's one thing if you kill a character someone is fond of as part of your story without realizing how it makes them feel.

Yeah, because, you know, 100+ issues worth of continuity and character development are meaningless unless she is constantly guilting herself over a death, right?
>>
>>83544622
This is what I choose to believe.

My headcanon is:

616 Spider-Man ends at One More Day, which starts an AU (Mephisto-verse).

Real continuity continues into MC2 from there.

After Spider-Girl: The End, the story is continued in the Earth X trilogy.

Spider-Verse never fucking happened, as far as I'm concerned.
>>
>>83540515
Hell yeah. My first issue was durin Leonardi's run on ASM. I always compare others to him in terms of dynamism, musculature, the eye pieces, and after images. Really narrows it down. JRJR is an exception, but my only other favorite it is Joe Mad.

Even Marc Waid is alright, when he writes Spider-Man. Family Business was pretty good.

If you recall the man killed Peter and wore his body like a fucking suit. It was satisfying because that was the only emotion Peter had shown in regards to the events of Superior. Your picture doesn't disprove it either, but I see your point.

He LOOKS old. Noir Peter was like a teenager when he was bit, and he's in his early twenties now. By bitter I meant his personality is completely standoffish and anti-social, thus the bitter part. I hate to say it, but Slott did a better job with his depiction in Shattered Dimensions. He was apart from Amazing, but still Peter Parker, with some funny sounding corny 20th colloquialisms. What I meant to say was, "He's bitter, and he is depicted as being old. That is, an oldder man with greying temples which gives off the image of being a bitter, old man as well."
