Anyone else watching this on Comedy Central? Already 10 minutes in and it's completely unwatchable.
>>
I completely forgot this existed.
>>
>>83465851
I don't blame you, it's terrible, at least so far.
>>
>>83465819
I know a guy who worked on this. He's suitably ashamed of it.
>>
>>83465819
dammit, why couldn't it be good? i need shit like this to be good, but somehow it never is.

I think Seth Rogen ruined Kevin Smith.

By no means was Kevin Smith good, but he was at least competent and actually cared about his characters. Ever since Rogen got him smoking more weed, we've gotten nothing but absolute reprehensible garbage from Smith.
>>
I tried going back and watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back recently.

Holy fuck that movie's humor has aged terribly.
>>
>>83466558
I like the bits with Mark Hamill in them.
>>
>>83466558
It's a Middle School movie, just like Mall Rats.

Clerks 1, 2 and Chasing Amy are his only films worth watching.
>>
>>83466601
Dogma is fun, especially if you happen to be Catholic.
>>
How did we go from Clerks the Series to this?
>>
>>83466612
Oh yeah, Dogma is good too.
>>
>>83465819
The whole thing was a bad idea.

An amateur animated made some Jay and Silent Bob stuff, and from that this was born. Even though I'm a huge Smith fan and have a bunch of collector DVDs of Clerks and his other early films I can't stand to watch this because of how bad it looks in motion.
>>
>>83466585
That part holds up, and Will Ferrell is still hilarious, but you gotta sit through a lot of cringy weed jokes.

The Cock Knocker scene is great when Mark Hamill shows up, but then there's the joke with the light saber bong and you're back to groaning.

INSPIRATIONAL

LMAOOOOOOOO
>>
>>83465819
I saw this, it's funny and pretty meaningless the whole way through.

and yeah it's absolutely horrendous to look at, an asian animation studio could have done better for probably less money
>>
>>83466612
Being Catholic catapults Dogma into the highest tier of comedy because so much of it is true.

Did you know priests actually can bless golf clubs? Priests can bless whatever they want. I once knew a priest who blessed a Hooter's.
>>
The funniest thing Kevin Smith has ever made remains Clerks: The Animated Series.
>>
>>83465819
That was the worst piece of trash I ever saw.
It looks like they got random animators from Newgrounds and just said "make a thing".
And then ad libbed a bunch of dialogue over a first draft script.
>>
I want to cocknock Tara Strong while she's doing that voice.

>popular movie/series from the 90's or 80's gets turned into a cartoon 20 years after its relevance wears out
>surprise, surprise, it's fucking awful
It happened to Jay And Silent Bob.
It happened to Cheech and Chong.
And lest we forget, pic related.

What about Tusk?
>>
>>83467021

Man G4 did some retarded stuff in the day. It didn't help that the show resorted to more movie parodies despite it already being one
>>
>>83466774
You're gonna need to deliver some context about that Hooters.
>>
>>83467183
You say that like Spaceballs only parodied Star Wars.
>>
>>83466536
Dude does seem really complacent based on his talks, he's like 45 and he's talking about stepping back and letting someone else shine, as if he's already done everything he's wanted.

I kind of enjoy some of his podcasts, gives at least an interesting opinion on various subjects, just wish he wasn't as lazy.

>Clerks 2
>Good
I politely disagree
>>
>>83466601
Went back and watched Chasing Amy for the first time since high school, still really solid and since I'm older I could relate way more to what was happening. Shame Kevin Smith hasn't done anything good in a long time
>>
>>83466536
I liked his daredevil guardian devil, that's it, and clerks looks fun

Any Ants present? What did you think of the last episode? Fucking Walmart man.
>>
>>83467021
The animation in this was dreadful
>>
>>83467270
He did some comics for Oni Press, I read the Jay & Silent Bob one that bridges Mallrats and Dogma, and it was as solid as Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.
The third issue is even the source of the part of the movie with the orangutan and Will Farrel.
>>
>>83465819
i kept it on
christ i haven't laughed once, finally bothered to change the channel
>>
>>83467279
Word. TESD is probably my favorite from the whole network. It's funny, I still have never seen an episode of comicbook men or practical jokers.
>>
>>83467021
>we got this instead of season 3 code monkeys
>>
>>83465819
Anyone here read smith's million dollar man? Been thinking about picking it up cause it looks alright but seeing his name on something makes me iffy about buying it lol
>>
>>83467456
Nice! Glad to meet a fellow ant. Comic book men is pretty meh, to be honest. The first season is the best, before executives stepped in and put more control over everything. Impractical jokers cracks me up.

It's weird seeing Sal and BQ in live action. I don't think I've ever seen what they looked like before this.
>>
>>83466536
This. I used to listen to his podcast religiously and you can just pinpoint the moment he gave up on life and just smoke weed to hide his insecurities of constantly failing in hollywood.
>>
>>83466536
Has Seth Rogen contributed anything good to society?
>>
>>83467683
Oh shit I just realized BQ was wearing a TESD shirt.

The animated series?
It looks like it was built by a re-re.
>>
Why is Kevin Smith so prevalent? The vast majority of his work ranges from unwatchable garbage to movies consisting almost entirely of in jokes. I get that he's a pretty cool guy but being a pretty cool guy isn't really justification for a supposedly influential career in movies.
>>
>>83468031
I guess the 40 Year Old virgin was pretty funny. He was like the 6th funniest guy in it though.
>>
>>83465819
I can tell just by the art it's shit.
>>
>>83468092
He's got a TESD shirt in a lot of episodes. Same with Bry on CBM
>>
>>83465819
I like Kevin Smith, and I agree he can be 50/50 in terms of quality.

But THIS? I fucking hate this animator. It's just so lazy. It's okay in small doses, like the SmodCo shorts, but I can't begin to imagine a full length feature in this style.
>>
>>83470546
Yeah, I can't stand the animator either. Also, I don't really think we can blame Smith for this, since this movie's loosely based off a first draft of a Bluntman and Chronic movie script he shelved and then gave to Jay to keep him busy.
