While it makes sense to show us Cap and Thor's physical fitness, it's ridiculous how everybody needs to show off a sixpack at least once. I'm glad Chris Evans doesn't want gratuitous shirtless scenes, otherwise it would go Arrow-tier.

"Unrealistic body standard" is used by lazy fat cunts too lazy to stop eating donuts and try jumping jacks because exercise triggers them
It's pathetic that people are trying to lower people's standards by making healthy bodies seem shameful

You wanna spread it out.
If you're spending more than 1 at the gym, you want to subdivide your workouts into different days.
Specifically, focusing on specific body parts on specific days.
Unless your routine is mostly cardio.
But let's be real here,
>cardio
kek
>>
>>83439985
But those bodies are realistic. You just need to put some effort into your life rather than being fat, lazy and stupid all the time.

It's not really unrealistic.

You need to lose all those skinnyfats first (via cardio) and then do 3 hours of strength workout.

Also steroids
>>
>>83440189
I didn't say that. The same applies to women. Toned, hot, low bf% women are also realistic if you put the effort in.

Realistic bodies are not the same as "average" body type across a population

When people say "Hurrr that's not realistic" what they mean is "That doesn't look like me and makes me feel fat and lazy".

>>
>>83440189
Yes. Because women look at other women trying to find something to criticize. Men compete by trying to outperform one another, but women try to tear down those above them, rather than build themselves up. If some fat housewife opens a fashion magazine and finds some flaw with a model, it allows her to soothe her own ego by telling herself, "See? She's not perfect." But when it's a body they're attracted to, like a man's, they don't see flaws, they see something they want, because those men are not competition for them. People complain about the double standard between male and female beauty, but it only exists because of women's delicate egos in the first place.

>jogging
If you want to gain muscle you have to compensate for calories lost during the jog, but yeah cardio's good for you.

>thirty push-ups, thirty sit-ups and thirty pull-ups before going to bed
What are your goals? because that's not gonna get you anywhere very fast. That's not to say it's useless, because doing anything is better than nothing, but it's really inefficient.

Google the details since it's all easy enough to find out, but just to get you started:
If you want to get stronger, lift heavier at lower reps. 5 sets of 5 is pretty standard.
If you want to get bigger, lift less at higher reps. 5 sets of 10 is about right, but I've seen the number range from 8 reps to 15 reps.

Choose a muscle group to work for a day, like chest one day, back another, legs another. This kind of stuff isn't set in stone, but it's a good guideline. Pick a simple routine then adjust over time as you like.

Make sure you're getting enough protein, and counting your calories. Again, consult google for details. Take everything into consideration, don't be the moron who counts up his calories for the day but forgets his snack or the calories in his drinks.

Oh and drink more water.
>>

You crazy? These guys have dedicated trainers who made them lose bodyfat as a full time job, then they get all the shirtless scenes done in the first few days of filming. The idea is that they get back to normal bodies after that for the rest of the shoot. You really can't maintain that kind of body while still working in a movie, you need to train for a day job.

/fit/ has to be one of the better memes on here, because there is no secret, you can't just "keep working out" and expect anything.

What's worse are the actual buff guys that if you try to ask how to bulk up, they just laugh and go "are you doing enough push ups" because to them, its hilarious. The thought of some skinny loser, drinking protein shakes for months on end, burning his body to the limit just to fund these guys ideas.

You do know they're the ones who make an endorse all this shit, just like the shitty kardashians who try to talk about make up and beauty, but had to get plastic surgery to look the way they are? Yeah, same thing.

Don't fall for the joke, guys. If you're skinny and past a certain age, your body will biologically try to lock you at one set weight and anyone who tries to say otherwise is uneducated.

You need to do a bit more than three times that. Also squats. And run 10km every day. Don't forget to turn off AC and heat for mental toughness.
And eat three meals per day. A banana in the morning is fine.

More seriously, strength training is good for you. Consider adding load to your body weight stuff or do harder variations.

it's a little more nuanced and complicated than that. try and strawman as you want and make up some imaginary fat housewife obsessing over fashion magazines when realistically she glances over it for only a second and goes on with her day managing her household. the argument is very emotional and persuasive. lets be real here when boiled down to it, women are primary valued about their appearance. men less so but more on status. remember when /r9k/ keeps whining about womyn who care more about money? that's the same for women who whine about men who care more about appearance.

it's nuanced and complex and i've oversimplified it and I doubt I'm gonna get proper discussion on this on /co/ of all places. this is the most you're gonna get from me. so think about this when you go back to your echo chamber about how shallow vapid womyn are ruining everything.

Sleeping and eating are just as (or more) important than the workout.

I didn't mean women in general and I didn't mean that's my experience with women

as you said, it comes down to gender expectations
for some reason men are expected to get /fit/ while women are "beautiful as they are"
while I don't really have this problem (6' 150lbs skinny/medium guy with a non-shallow girlfriend) people like my cousin infuriate me. She's the wine+chocolate cat-lady stereotype I mentioned, a pudgy short girl that thinks anything less than a 6'2" 180lbs <3%bodyfat aryan should be shot on sight

anyway, I started rambling

my point is, if you have high expectations, you need to put in work too. don't dish it out if you can't take it and don't think you are entitled to something if you didn't do anything to deserve it

Well, for a lot of women there are things beyond muscle mass and body fat % that gets judged - breast/ass size and shape, waist proportions, avoiding manly qualities (broad shoulders, too much jaw definition, too /fit/). A lot of bone structures are considered unattractive, which isn't something you can work off in the gym. Also, the "ideal" woman, as in the figure of a lot of models/stars, isn't /fit/, just really skinny, which is more genetics based than hard work.

For men, if you buff up and your face doesn't look like shit, then you're fine. Unless you're hairy as fuck like me, in which case nothing you do will change how gross you are.

But yeah, landwhales complaining about how it's "unfair" are mostly full of shit, but comparing it to a man's situation isn't exactly fair.

How are these unrealistic? Unlike female actors who have to look 100% all the time to keep getting roles, these guys (while undoubtedly putting a huge amount of work in to look that good) only work out in preparation for a movie and are allowed to slack off and lose the muscles in between movies.

you will literally lose weight if you limit yourself to just 3 big macs per day. what kills people is the lifestyle associated with the big mac diet. they add fries, soda, milkshake and sit on their fatasses all day. just add a little walking everymorning and you're good to go.

this is bad advice. autist nerds on 4chan stay cooped up in their parents basement for years. be realistic. people here need practice talking to people.

Then talk to people online. 4chan doesn't count. Find people you have common interests with and talk about those things until you know what you can and can't talk about with them. It's not that hard though it does require some effort but the most important thing is to stop acting like you're the victim of some kind of conspiracy against everyone who isn't 10/10 rich celebrity. The two groups most subject to body pressures are gay men and straight women. Next comes straight men. THe group that has almost zero pressures to be fit are lesbians.

The men pressure the other men to be fit, not the women. Lesbians don't have 60% obesity rates because they fucking care about how their partner looks.
