I hear you. Most people will tell you to stop reading cape comics, but the reality is that there really isn;t much variety in the industry. Most of the stuff that's supposedly not capes still feels like capes. And indieshit is usually just pretentious "artsy" drivel made by neckbeards.
Try either getting into webcomics that interest you, or make something yourself. There's not many options, sadly.
