>5.He has had longterm character development. Just think about how he started off on the show. Just some hired hand kissing ass to get in with HIVE. He had a personal relationship with Damien Dahrk, almost a protege relationship as Darhk saw potential in him, but he was ultimately betrayed by his idol who set Team Arrow upon him. He is consistent about his character's motivation and has been waging a one man war vs Dahrk despite repeated interference by Team Arrow.

Season 4 had the best villain in the whole series. He simply overshadowed all of season's flaws for many people. Maybe Guggenheim should've done the same and focus more on making Darhk complex than on Felicity drama.

I still love The Flash, but I agree, and I'm terrified that next season it will go bad too. I'm 100% done with Arrow, might drop Gotham too since that show is batshit retarded (sometimes in a very funny and good way, more often not) and kind of pointless, and don't have much hope for Legends of Tomorrow despite the fact that it no longer has the Hawk retards and Savage weighing it down. Feels awful. But hey, at least Rebirth is the best cape comic in years, so at least there's that?

Laurel literally had the world constantly shit on her. Sister and boyfriend die while cheating on her, mom abandons her, dad drinks. Has to work through that. Boyfriend comes back but sister's still dead, angry at him but accepts he has gone through some shit on the island. Is there for him when his sister fucks up. Boyfriend does trying to save her life.
Season 2, depression hits, gets into drugs and alcohol, everyone tells her to fix up instead of actually giving her any support. Gets gas lighted by the villain and no one believes her. Sister comes back, fucking her ex once again without telling her. Everyone again just tells her to fucking deal with it.
And even at her worst, she was still compassionate. She was there for Oliver even when she was mad at him because she loved him and his family.
Compare that to passive aggressive bitch Felicity and there is a world of difference.

No, that show is a guilty pleasure of mine and some of the characters are really likable (Monty, Jasper, Raven, and Bellamy mainly), but the writing is pretty bad and characters themselves are wildly inconsistent in their motivations and actions. It's entertaining, violent, dark, and has some very attractive actresses in it but it's not actually very good. There have been some egregiously stupid plot contrivances throughout the series just to add drama and drag things out and there was also an awful, pointless, out of nowhere lesbian romance between the main character who from the start was purely straight up until the last few episodes of season 2 that attracted the same sort of fanbase as Felicity.
