She's great. I like her and the Great Lake Avengers a lot.

She's a joke that works well when not dwelled on too much and especially when not stared directly in the eye. When you try to make her an actual focus and even try to explore the joke, it ruins it. And now here we are, they ruined the joke.
And they made it ugly.
As someone who doesn't read comics it's mostly >>83097041, but I've had the incredible misfortune of taking part of the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl story times and if I were to base my opinion solely on that, I'd think she's fucking shit.

I think she could easily have an ongoing (I would kill for her to have an ongoing that regularly featured the Great Lakes Avengers). It just would take a slightly decent writer to handle her and her silver-age sensibilities. The current artist and writer on the book is atrocious from what I've seen.

I'm kind of triggered by the fact that the new Squirrel Girl gets away with having atrocious art because of the social values it preaches. I don't actually read it, of course, but knowing that someone's who's "style" looks like they are missing most of their fingers can get paid as a professional artist as long as they go along with pop politics just pisses me off.

The problem is that her face looks fat. The current artist draws her with a fat face, so we all think she's fat, but then you look at her body, and she literally has no tits and not even a moderately large ass, no belly.
She just has a fucked up face with a shape we all instinctively associate with fat people, because only people who have facial fat deposits have a face like that. At least, people who do not also have some sort of syndrome.
But this is the artist who fucked up so hard at drawing a woman, Tumblr started praising them for including an obvious transgender.
