The original/main Archie series and its spin-offs are basically PG-rated slice-of-life comedies, akin to John Hughes movies. Afterlife With Archie was a big deal because it took these seemingly wholesome characters and stuck them in the middle of a zombie apocalypse with real consequences and emotional turmoil. The same goes for The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, which I also highly recommend.
