Actually aside from that check out episode 4 (or in another way of saying it, 7 and 8). They're Quest Buy and Cheer Up Star.
If you don't like them then the show may not be for you. If you do though consider checking it out. Another episode everyone generally agrees is undeniably top tier is Freeze Day.

They may be less interesting from a plot/writing point of view, but there is still a lot of character developements for the main characters, and even if you hate shipping Star and Marco's relationship is obviously one of the main point in the show, not just something going on in the background, so if I were you I'd watch every episode and focus more on the chatacters than on the not-awesome-but-still-above-average jokes.
If you still feel like you want to get "in medias res", world building starts to get more serious with episode 6, with episode 1A, 2A, 3A and 5A being important.

Well a lot of unfortunate shit happened to me today, I fucked my left knee even more than it was fucked already; can barely walk. At least the Friday will cheer me up a little.
In lighter news, I updated the writefag list, adding a word count to the stories in case people are looking for a 5-minute thrill or something to indulge themselves on. It took a long time but oddly enough I had some fun doing it.

I actually did, looking back it wasn't all that great. let me share some wisdom with you.
A recurring theme I see with these kind of posts is when you're on the outside looking in it's easy to feel jelly because you're trying to fill that loneliness void that you see others flaunting in front of you constantly. It's virtually inescapable. But in reality if you do get that "perfect" girl going in with that mindset it fucks with you beyond belief. It may not seem like it in your fantasies about her but if you did get her you'd actually be more afraid of losing her than you would actually being with her. You'd be doing or saying the right thing to keep her in since you were that stressed out about not having her with to begin with. It would be more about filling that void than it would be spending time with her and actually enjoying it. Which never ends well.
This may sound fucked up on the surface but hear me out, the best relationships you can be in are the ones where you value yourself above all. Not only because things like not having that "cute and perfect" relationship doesn't bother you to begin with, but you'll be able to offer more by not worrying about it and just expressing yourself to her freely.

It's actually true. It's also a huge reason why people stay in abusive and unhealthy relationships. Note the word is I used was value, not love.
Think about what it implies for a minute. You value them higher than your own self worth so naturally it means you're just gonna want to take from them to make up the difference. This manifests in constantly needing approval from them that you probably already have, always worrying if you're being cheated on, ect. You're trying to unfairly drain from them since you feel what you have isn't adequate.
When you have that higher level of self respect, you'll set way more healthy boundaries. You won't be constantly worrying about whether what you're doing for them is ever good enough because you're feeling so good about yourself that all you're really ever doing is giving to the other person.

Probably the Disney executives are playing their cards very carefully. They're getting a big load of new series next year, but this current year they're barely getting any new stuff. In fact, many of their previous series are ending (first Gravity Falls, but Wander Over Yonder and The 7D are next). So it's probable they don't want to leak any information, specially nowadays when other networks are also producing strong series.
This practice isn't new, and I prefer them (Ms. Nefcy and her crew) to remain silent. I remember long ago, when Disney had the rights of Power Rangers they were deciding which theme they would use as the main song. They had two choices, one was rock and the other was hip-hop. The composer of the rock version shared it online before it was due time. It sems there was some misinformation and the composer didn't know he couldn't do it. Out of spite, Disney execs selected the un-leaked, hip-hop version our of spite, some say. I don't know if it was out of spite, but the rock version sounded better than the actual theme song we got.
Anyways, Disney executives are weird, and it's better not to summon their rage. As Adamn mentioned, they know everything and they're everywhere...

Now THIS is the first thing I drew in YEARS, first time I used Colors 3D on my 3DS to actually try to draw something despite having it downloaded for like a year.
This was done to go along my first fanfic for /sveg/. Back then I wanted to draw 1 pic to go along every fic I would write but that idea died quickly since I was not skilled enough for that.

Now for the ACTUAL first pic that I drew for someone on /sveg/.
It was an open request by WF for the finale of his fic, I decided to give it a try, he liked it a lot which I really appreciate.
Back then my biggest wish was to draw stuff from /sveg/ fanfics, but every try I did to drawing scenes ended in disaster so that dream slowly died.

Earlier I said I envy how /tlhg/ has a huge influx of fanfic fanarts and comics. Thinking about it it may be because the nice fellows over there have like 3 or 4 big writers and most of the stuff turned into fanart comes from them. Is a more focused effort.
While here we have SO MANY WRITERS! We have an entire pastebin listing them! It would be near impossible to pick favorites to draw from.

Whats next is one of the most baffling things I ever tried. I was replaying Dragon Quest 3 at the time (as part of a marathon celebrating the anouncement of the 3DS DQ7 and DQ8 games for the west) and decided to draw Star and some of the secondary girls as different classes.

Its the earliest one on the "timeline" I had in my fics so its actually a pretty good starting point.
My fics are weird, they are best read in either chronological order or in the order I wrote them.

I am gonna cheat a bit for this one, this is the second time I drew the character "Astra Parallax" from Folly-Cola's fanfic "Dueling Stars".
The first version was even worse so I redrew her and I only post the second one to not be redundant. This is an extremely simplified design of her I made up just to be able to get it drawn, I still wonder how the design FC originally envisioned looks.
I always regretted not being able to draw her Staff. I actually imagined seceral designs for it but it was impossible for me to draw since drawing long straight lines is very hard for me as it is, also the mechanical parts were too detailed for me to even try to do. I later gave her a wand istead for another thing I drawn but thats for later.

I've been drawing on and off forever basically, I used to use a DeviantArt account (http://ironghast.deviantart.com/, there is an older one, I don't feel like sharing it). I don't really use it any more because I don't like the atmosphere there these days. Plus I never really did anything /co/ related while I was there.
The last thing I posted there was some monster girl designs (pic related) and some OC tournament stuff. I used to be really into tourneys and contests, but I'm terrible at judging what people want to see, so I never really won.
I actually was in a pretty bad art slump before I joined tumblr, there was a period of almost a year where I didn't actually draw anything and my technique suffered for it.
