An Australian anon uploaded a BD rip of Over the garden wall. It has great video and audio quality, as well as some extras
I uploaded it to a torrent tracker because MEGA is shit for me, and it may be shit for others. I will be seeding it exclusively on a 4MB/s connection for a week so get to it

>finish Over the Garden Wall recently
>get to the end where they leave the world over the wall behind to return to their real lives
>feel something I haven't felt in years
>as a child, when a fantasy adventure would end and the protagonists had to go back to their own world, it always upset me and filled me with denial
>it did this because my childhood was awful and I used those stories to escape it, and hated having my escapism start lecturing me about not living in fantasy and to go back to reality when my reality was too bad to bear
>been trying to improve and fully engage in life since my late teens, now into early adulthood
>mfw finishing OtGW and realizing I still crave that escapism
>this time I didn't feel denial, only melancholy

Still a pretty great show.

It's pretty comfy most of the time

Wait is that the same guy who made the unpacking thread weeks ago and it was just a DVD of this shitty over hyped show?
People sure made him feel bad about ordering it from over seas and going through all that just for a DVD.
>>
>>82736438
I feel like this would be more effective bait if you just called it over-hyped. Acting like you don't know the difference between blu-rays and DVDs is kind of transparent. You made that "mistake" twice. It's just too much.

32 megabits
36 at night or with low traffic

I'm sorry I haven't bought a physical copy of any digital product in maybe over a decade. I forgot people actually buy this shit and that blu-rays were the 'norm' now.

It was a thread from the beginning of this week. And by the image quality at that resolution it's obviously a Bluray

I'm now curious about the thread you're talking about, though. Imma search in the archive
>>
>>82736779
Okay? Why would you not want a physical copy of something you love.

Dear diary, today OP wasn't a faggot.
>>
>>82732456
Nice Job OP.

Though now having compared the video quality of a few episodes, I did notice one thing. Some episodes are fine, but a few of the have noticeably different colors. Like "Hard Times at the Huskin Bee" the colors lose their vibrance and luster, becoming a little blandly luminous. Same thing though lesser extent with "Mad Love."

I'm now torn on which to keep.....

>>82736779
It's a mixed reward. Sometimes you get those nice extras in physical media, and hey, it's yours forever from then on. Also when buying digital, sometimes the quality (usually with music) is notably lower than buying a CD because of lossy compression. I will NEVER pay for anything from Amazon again because they won't even give you music in 320kpbs, let alone lossless like they god-damn should.

With digital products, sometimes theirs licensing issues that can happen, though it's pretty rare in first world countries. But there is the inheritance issue, meaning leaving what you've bought to your loved ones when you die. I remember a story in the news about some guy who was dying and had spent more than $10,000 on the iTunes store. He contacted Apple, wanting to know how to bequeath his digital library to his children, and Apple's response was "Fuck you. You can't do that. When you die, they are no longer valid for anyone else. Oh, and if we detect someone else is using your computer, we'll terminate your account and you'll potentially get sued for piracy." Heard the same story from a couple of other places.

>>82739254
I know what you're about
I still prefer having the lighter version and using filters/modifying the renderer if I want a darker ambiance. Some detail in episode 1 is just not there in the webdl

What are the extras?
>>
>>82740234
Yeah. It is mostly the brilliance of color that I lament the loss of. I've watched this so many times that I notice it sharply.

But yes, those two episodes I mentioned in particular were very low brightness, losing detail.

>>82743301
The pilot, a behind the scenes vid, some deleted keyframes and audio commentary

Holy shit, when did a blu ray come out?

Love the box art, wish I could get my hands on a copy.
>>
>>82744018
Only came out in Australia, because they have one (and only one) good company there which tends to get most of the rights to cartoons in their country, and because it's a good company it releases things.

Whereas the rest of the world has Warner Bros, which treats every one of its fans like children.

You should watch the Where the Wild Things movie. It basically follows the exact same theme.
>>
>>82737188
I don't know why but that rating makes me laugh.

Are kids so sheltered now they need a warning for scary scenes? It's funny though, because it legitimately terrified me as an adult and that warning would not have helped if I knew about it before hand.
>>
>>82749271
I don't get you. First you lament warning labels for kids, but then you admit that it actually scared you?

The label gives parents a warning so they can watch it first and decide if their kid is mature enough for it. I mean, I'm cool with children's media being dark, but there's a time and a place. The kid might be really young and the parent might not want to deal with a screaming kid who can't sleep because of a cartoon.

Return to The Unknown when?

I bet you FAGGOTLORDS aren't even reading the new comic.
>>
>>82748961
You can actually import it directly through Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E76YPXA/

But as it says on the page there, it probably won't play in your Bluray player.

Also the BD is brightened compared to the iTunes version. Overly washed out, in my opinion.
>>
>>82750540
The DVD and Blu-ray versions do look less vivid than the web/TV versions, but they also show more detail that was hidden by blackness before.

Check it.

Someone should ask Pat McHale which is closer to his vision.
