Word up.
Apparently Coogler wrote some of his lines, making me even more hyped for his movie.

>In my country the mantle of Black Panther is passed from great warrior to warrior, and now thanks to your friend I also carry the name of King. So now I ask you as both a warrior and King: how long do you think you can keep him from me?
>>
That thing doesn't obey the laws of physics at all!
>>
Spidey going full Spakker Dave-tier fanboy was pretty great.
>>
>How does it feel to put all that effort into your plan, only to see it fail?
>Did it?

I don't know why, but that part gave me chills. The fact that a normal guy managed to do what Loki and Ultron couldn't is unnerving.
>>
Thinks for thanking of me.
>>
>YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT

Nigga bought me as permanent spidey from that line onward.
>>
So... you like cats?
>>
Hawkeye was so much better in this.

>I retire for five minutes and it all goes to shit.

>I knew I should have stretched.

>I played 18, I shot 18. Just can't seem to miss.
>Well, first time for everything.
>Made you look.

>Are we still friends?
>Depends on how hard you hit me.

>We haven't met yet. I'm Clint.
>I don't care.

>That chewing out Tony in the Raft.
>Better watch your back around this guy! He might break it!
>>
>is this Tony Stank?
>>
"Do you even remember them?"
"I remember all of them."
>>
Please stop bullying Vision. He did nothing wrong.
>>
>This guy Steve was there.
>Do I know him?
>No, he's from Brooklyn.
>And this other guy, he was HUGE.

Was anyone else surprised to hear the River of Truth quote? Was kinda weird not hearing it from Cap, but I really liked that it was included.

They've fully embraced his role as the "most useless one", so even the character's aware of it and making the most of it.

But it's brought out a bit of Clint's boastrous side more so I'm for it.
>>
The whole Ant-Man becoming Giant-Man bit was keks from every angle

>HOLY SHIT!
>Tiny dude is big now -- he's big now!

I had a feeling they were going to sneak it into the movie somehow because its such an iconic Captain America quote.

All of this, Barton was amazing. Also pretty much everything spidey. I like how they acknowledged aunt may being hot too.

Zemo was fantastic. I was expecting purple balaclava eventually or something, but he was just a normal guy tearing apart the most powerful people on the planet. Top tier villain writing.

Also, Vision. "Well the door was open, so i assumed..."

And "I thought it was a water truck!"
>>

>Clint retires

>>82558965
I love how Sam got on his case for talking too much, such a classic Spidey moment.
>>
It'd be a lot to type and remember, I'd probably have to look it up and see if its been posted anywhere but that long exchange between Steve and Tony when he almost gets him to sign the Accord was really intense.
>>
>>82558894
On that note, who is Peter actually related to? Aunt May or Uncle Ben?
>>
>>82559079

Yeah that was good.
>>
>>82559048

Yeah, the Russos did a good job of portraying the fact that, even in a universe of plentiful quips, Spidey is still excessively quippy to an annoying degree.

>Tony telling him to shut up after he takes Cap's shield.
>Falcon telling him to shut up during their fight.
>Rhodey getting annoyed by his Empire Strikes Back reference.

One of my favourite aspects of Spidey's interaction with other heroes is them all thinking he's an annoying dweeb.

That's how it should be too, early Spidey annoyed fucking everyone that he teamed up with, it wasn't until he later calmed down a bit and became an avenger that his team mates stopped getting annoyed. Based Russos
>>
>>82559083
I can't remember where I heard this, but I feel like in some continuity he was technically the blood nephew of both. The siblings of Peter's parents got together.

Sam treating Bucky's "single child doesn't like the new baby" relationship was great.

>"serious" fight

They literally only fought because they were at a cross roads. Team cap wanted to get to the super soldiers and were trying to do that, team iron man wanted to just bring in team cap alive and submit them to the law and due process.

The only person who was actually trying to harm and kill was black panther. That's why there were quips (mostly from characters who are supposed to fucking quip anyway like Spidey, Hawkeye and ANTS) but when Tony loses his shit and tries to kill the shit out of bucky while trying to get cap out of his way in a fit of seething rage at the end of the movie while Zemo tries to kill himself there's no quips.

When shit got serious, the quipping stopped.

Yeah, they took the best parts of Priest's run, which even as a fan of it I admit is very little, and channeled it all into Black Panthers story in this movie. They got everything I wanted to see out of the character in this movie, first and foremost defining his identity as a Warrior King which is the most important, showing how he always has a diplomatic entourage around him while he's on official business outside of Wakanda, and then just little things like his austere posture and cool clothing.
>>
>>82560343

>>
>>82560893
HYDRA has numerous assassins at his disposal. It might be something Cap suspected, but he never knew for sure.
>>
>>82561060
>HYDRA has numerous assassins

How do you know? Seriously, I've never seen Agent Carter or Agents of SHIELD, is that stated in either of those or something? Because Zola seemed to be saying that HYDRA relied on manipulating events politically more than violence after World War II ended. They'd really only need one trained killer, especially if he's superhuman.
>>
>>82561029
Gotta admit that that would've been pretty good.

Ant-Man in the movie overall was pretty fucking great though. Hyped as shit for him in the next solo of his.
>>
>>82559377

Also, hate to bring back the BvS/CW circlejerk argument, but I got so many more ACTUAL THEMES from this film.

>tony/zemo both were driven to some shitty things by concepts of revenge, t'challa rose above his
>peggy dealing with 1900's era bullshit inspiring steve further to rebel against the accords
>friend against friend battle is a conflict ABOUT saving a friend

They may be surface-level as fuck and I won't deny it, but I got way more out of this than the circle of hypocrisy that was BvS' plotline.
>>
>>82558680
His naivety and inexperience of being "law enforcement" was great. This spidey really is the best spidey.
>>
>>82561320

It went something like:

TONY: Did you know? [that his parents were assassinated and didn't die in a car wreck]
STEVE: I didn't know it was him.
TONY: But did you KNOW?
STEVE: ...yes.

So Tony's enraged at Bucky for killing them and at Cap for not telling him they were murdered. I think.

Also, top notch acting from both of them in that scene. Tony, heartbroken and also furious, and Steve, knowing he just irrevocably fucked up a friendship.

>Cap literally said he knew Hydra was responsible butwasn't sure if Bucky did the deed

It was pretty clear to me from the way he said it that even it what Steve said is technically true, it was because he didn't want to know. Steve was protecting himself from the truth about all of the things that Bucky has done because he only wants to see him as his friend and a victim of Hydra, not an assassin who has left a trail of bodies for the last 70 years.

This movie made Tony a more compelling than any of that 'I wake up screaming in my sleep!" In Iron Man 3. His conflict and pain was believable in a way that really surprised me.

In the trailer, they made him seem like the arrogant prick he usually is, but man... It's wild to see the best interpretation of Stark in a Captain America movie..

I'm honestly surprised at how good the Russos were at predicting my thoughts. What I'm shocked about is that they didn't have him wearing a balaclava or something in the scene when he is outside the winter soldier bunker in Russia.

They weren't fighting seriously, in the sense that they weren't trying to kill each other. They weren't fighting like they were trying to stop a super villain from leveling the city.

The only people who were 100% in it were Cap, Tony, Bucky, and Black Panther. And the only one who was ready to fucking murder someone was Black Panther. But he had no long-standing allegiance to the team yet. In fact, he was only on Tony's side because Bucky was on the other side.

Spider-Man and Ant Man had zero stake in what was going on, and Hawkeye really only had any because he has been strung along in these movies since the beginning.

Every single other character fell in some gray area in the middle.

Black Widow and Hawkeye were pulling their punches. BW stops Black Panther from getting to Cap and Bucky. SW initially seems like she barely wants to be there.

Sure, they're all fighting, and they're "serious" about the fight, but the stakes in the end aren't a bad guy destroying something with the McGuffin. These are people who work together, and are friends, and they're torn between what's going on.

WOW!! I loved it! I didn't think it was going to be this good. It must have been the team fights that made it so amazing. I didn't like Winter Solider (don't really know why? Maybe because there was no threat in it? You knew Steve was going to save 5.6 million people from Hydra at the end and live. So I was very board I guess.) But this was just so great.

The ONE line that made everyone cringe and nobody laugh was (and it had such a good build up to be so funny and it just feel flate on its face), was when Ant Man gets back to normal size, breaths, grits his teeth, breaths again, opens his mouth, pants one more time (oh man this quip is going to be so good!)....Orange slices.

...You could FEEL the head tilt everyone did in the theater. Like "huh?

Anyone else get a massive lady boner when Vision touched Wanda's arm from leaving the house? Don't know why I found that to be a thousand times more sexual than if they french kissed. Good job, movie.

Alternatively, Vis does a forehead beam on Thanos. He blocks it with his hand while walking forward. Finally encloses Vis' head in his huge hand. Dramatic moment as Vis' realizes he's outmatched. Thanos crumples Vision's head in his fist. Everyone is stunned. Debris falls off, leaving the gem in the middle of his upturned palm.

WOW!

Is all i can say about this fucking movie!
Its just as good as winter soilder and slightly better at the same time.

The plot totally thru me off when we learn that zemotrue motive was to break up the avengers and not review a dead army of winter solders.

The final battle had my heart pounding with how intense and brutal it was.
These were friends and allies borderline trying to kill each other and cap and tony weren't throwing any punches like they were in the first fight.

The Fighting and choreography was also fantastic.
My favorite was definitely bucky and cap kickin ass in bucky's apartment while using each almost instinctively to defend and attack at the same damn time.other.

And the did it again when they fought tony and it looked so damnnnnnnnnnnnn goood!

Lets not forget spider-man who also stole the show without them having him in the movie to much so he doesn't take all the spotlight.
Was also a nice touch how tony give him his proper spider suit that we all are so familiar with.

BEST MARVEL MOVIES SO FAR:
Winter Soilder
Civil War
Iron Man 1
Thor 1
Guardians Of the Galaxy
Ant Man

Fav quotes:
Ant man and starks banter in the prison.
Ant man:
PYM WAS RIGHT, YOU NEVER CAN TRUST A STARK

Stark:
I'm sorry who are you

Ant man:
.......

Bucky and falcon car scene

Bucky:
Can you move your seat up

Falcon:
NO!

Bucky and Cap also had really great chemistry on screen and the way the fought and talked to each other shows it.

FUCKIN A YOUR RIGHT
>>
>>82563055
That was one of things that bugged me. It was a fight wasn't caused by them (except in the abstract sense that it was Ton'y fault for creating him), that they did everything to stop.

How many 9/11 firefighters get shit on for the people they couldn't help?
>>
>>82563055
I don't think they undid that, they just said they didn't save everybody. Even what Wanda did with Crossbones was an attempt to save people. She just couldn't contain the pressure any more when he was near the building. 11 people died vs the 30 plus that could have bought it on the ground.
>>
>>82563272
Not really the abstract sense at all.

Ultron was a project that the Avengers started. Stark had no oversight and just decided to dick around with an infinity stone (even if they didn't know it at the time, they didn't understand the thing).

Ultron was 100% Stark's fault. He tried to fix it though, which should have been more emphasized.
>>
>>82563245

It was inevitable that the main set piece was going to devolve into fan service banter. Everything from the initial framing of the two sides facing off and running toward each other that was shown off in a million commercials, even to Spidey making an appearance, arguably, signaled that.

>>82563183

It makes no sense for Bucky to be the only HYDRA assassin. They had to freeze him between missions because the conditioning would weaken if it wasn't refreshed every so often. They only brought him out for the most important missions. He's physically still pretty young, so he probably spent most of his time on ice. They wouldn't be very effective if they didn't have teams of trained soldiers like Rumlow and his team and were just counting on one guy to do all the work.
>>
>>82562518
>SW initially seems like she barely wants to be there.
If Tony had just asked Vision to keep an eye on her instead of putting her on house arrest, this whole thing could have been avoided.

>"Nah, wait, ugh, no I'm ok. I'm ok!" *Spidy tried to get up and follow Iron Man but falls back down."
>You're DONE.
>..Oh. Oh ok. Yeah, I'm done.

Honestly anything that had Spidy or Black Panther just standing on screen were the best parts. I just loved this young Peter, so likeable.

Also loved, "Guys, please, I have only one job to do right now and I really want to impress Mr. Stark." Like he was acting like he was at an office job and didn't just take out the Winter Solider and Falcon.

The Ant Man fight blew my fucking 12 year old mind. I gotta go watch his flick night. I skipped over it for some reason.
>>
>>82563907

Well no, that would have blown up in Tony' face too. If they played house together and then Client shows up to take her, and she goes with him willingly, she would be like WTF when Vision suddenly doesn't' allow her. Then of course Vision has to tell her that she can't actually leave, causing her to distrust Tony rather than just be annoyed with him.
>>
>>82561060
I think in Winter Soldier, Zola said they used the Winter Soldier to alter history in their favor and then showed the Stark crash. I saw it the other day to get ready for Civil War.
>>
>>82563055
i haven't watched civil war yet but one of the things i LOVED about aou was its 'imperfect' ending.

they BLEW UP a city. the debris from such an event would be like 9/11 times 100.

that much debris has the capability of causing a localized nuclear winter, not to mention disrupting aircraft and potentially causing cancer with all the toxic particulate matter.

if marvel gets the f4 back, this could be THE event that brings dr doom out of the shadows.

the avengers saved the people of sokovia but not without totally fucking up eastern europe, the middle east and maybe even china.

do we know what caused the reported deaths?

That's the ultimate reason why Cap is right. There's no way you could find fault with what the Avengers did they operated in situations where millions of lives were at risk and kept casualties in the hundreds. There's no way you could find fault in that. The UN just wanted an excuse to get the Avengers under their control. With how blatantly corrupt MCU governments have shown themselves to be agreeing to the accords is ridiculous.

It has nothing to do with Enhanced humans other than the fact they just wanted the Avengers under their thumb and this was the pretense for it.

If they wanted liability then fucking rein Tony in and ignore everyone else except Wanda. Everyone else has been entirely reactive and helpful and can be held accountable for NONE of the damage caused.
