I really adored the original pilot series, I think the full 30 minute serialized version was a bad move. I loved the cucking of the dad subplot and the original voices!
It'll never be renewed. I prefer it since I hated the second season and a potential 3rd season would be closer to the 2nd.

And the problem wasn't just the voices. Golan's voice and character completely changed. There was nothing other-worldly about him.
