I disagree. They were a nothing family that never did anything interesting. New season hate meme aside, I dont see the appeal of Vicky's family over anything.
The reason I end up agreeing wit you though is that we've seen so much of Crocker's backstory and past that it's really time to start fleshing out the other villains.
Though even then, I'd prefer going to Dark Laser or Norm first.

Yeah, long runners tend to have periods where everything is zoomed in on the main characters and periods where it's super focused on everyone else.
Season 9 was practically Timmy staying at his house for the whole season.
