Uh, no?

Anon you're completely out of the loop.
>>
Original is undoubtedly the best, at this point its just a milked out franchise
>>
Hell no.

Prime kicked ass, and RID is a visual treat with fun writing.

Plus a baller theme song

Also Rescue Bots will be the longest running TF series. It's pretty mature and entertaining for a kids show.

I'd still like BW with updated graphics
But cars make better robot toys

I gave up on RiD, I don't like anything about it besides Strong-Arm
>>
>>82388948
No, there is a billion dollar movie franchise, two current cartoons, and a series of critically acclaimed comics with an autisticly and psychoticly devoted fanbase. And also some toys.
>>
>>82388948
No? It's doing pretty well for a toy property in 2016.

The art style is pretty bad (cel-shaded minus style? I dunno), the designs are retarded, the characters are dull, the stakes are low, and the source of conflict is literally cops and robbers
>>
Of course not.

TF5 is next year, the show will last until at least spring 2017, and the toys and comics are still on a steady stream.
>>
>>82395043
Wait, they're still making the live-action movies?
>>
>>82395114

Of course they are. They're already plotting scripts for up to TF7.

And thats not even counting a potential all-animation prequel set on Cybertron.

Windblade technically isn't an IDW OC

Hasbro made her based on what fans voted for, IDW just had to market her

Terrible OCs would include Rung, Tarn, Tyrest, Nautica, Drift before Hasbro adopted him wholeheartedly...I actually don't consider Rung or Nautica terrible, but I know a lot of folk do

Why not? They made a Generations Lugnut only a few years after Animated ended. And while they weren't Generations style, LOckdown and Bulkhead got new toys too

I can honestly see Prime/RID characters getting new toys in the next5-10 years
>>
>>82396481
>>82396405
I wish she'd get a generations styled toy, I think the character looks cool (never watched rid), but her toy is very meh.
I can see her spreading out to modern G1 eventually, there's always that one character from new series that do, and I believe Strongarm will be the one.
At the very least, I can see her showing up in IDW like Knockout did, but that doesn't guarantee a toy.

most movies don't get more than 3 because there's a pattern that companies follow.

um, yeah?

That's exactly the point?

Anon was saying that we would never see a new Generations-style Strongarm (completely new character for RID) in our lifetime

IDW is known for making grey characters on every side, having gay characters (which, face it, kind of make sense when, before the colonies were discovered, Arcee was the only female and she was a psycho forced-op tranny) and a handful of OCs

In addition, MTMTE is specifally known for hot robots and terrible things happening all the time

>Original is undoubtedly the best, at this point its just a milked out franchise

You are so fucking wrong. The last few years have been, by far, the best years for Transformers fiction. Up until about 9 years ago there where only really two examples of TF fiction that where mostly considered legitimately good; the G1 comic's latter half, and Beast Wars. Other series where competitors, too, but on the whole the amount of decent stuff was lacking. Then we got Animated, Prime, MTMTE, WfC/FoC, and so on. The last few years have bought an abundance of interesting new concepts and ideas and stories. Your entire post just reeks of "the G1 movie looked cool so therefore it was the peak". We've gone so far beyond G1 its amazing.

You're forgetting Animated Megatron.

Personally I lost all respect for Prime Megatron when he killed Dreadwing. In general he felt like a step down from Animated Megatron in that he never felt like he united his decepticons. He felt too petty, too 80's villain. I did like his redemption, though.
>>
>>82397164
It had potential but according to hasbro, no one was buying the toys. After season two, Hasbro had to decide on to keep going with Beast Hunters or end it abruptly for an easier to sell "kid-merch friendly" TF series.

Doesn't help that The Hub was going under among all this too.

>>
>>82397242
I think they had to go this route because they wanted to go "monster of the week."

It's like with Prime, they had to use very few characters in order to get the level of animation they wanted

This time, they wanted a brand new Decepticon in every single episode...so they had to make a tradeoff to afford all those character models.

Which was a mistake since half those characters suck and the models will probably remain as one-shots

Cases in point: Ped, the Skunkticons, Terrashock. Three wastes of money right there

It was more The Hub dying than anything else. It cost several million an episode, and ratings were nowhere near high enough to justify that.

Although it had problems from the start; the writers wanted freedom, Hasbro wanted them to follow the new continuity. Then in season 3 the toy designers were pissed that their stuff wasn't being used.

They're gay for starters. Plus they're not just random characters, they're characters that have been around since the 80's. It's only natural that somebody gets pissed off when their favorite childhood toy/character is suddenly gay.

And no, tranny Arcee doesn't make sense. Fembots should just be there with no explanation or have a less ridiculous one.

If you wanna go the "make sense" route, Arcee really doesn't, because IDW actually had female cameos such as Elita-One before Arcee's backstory, and now Caminus is full of them.
Arcee's backstory is not only stupid, but also a plot hole one way or the other.

No its the molds I have a problem with , its the fact that they use completely unique molds for many UW toys that either won't be released under the hasbro label or they're released for 20 minutes on the toyshop site and never again.

Here is UW Blast Off. IT IS A COMPLETELY UNIQUE MOLD.
>>

Well, fun for me, anyway.
>>
>>82398695
>the japanese repaints of the rest of the molds magically make them better. Right.

Takara Computron uses almost entirely different molds compared to the Combiner Wars version. Takara Deluxe Groove isn't a repaint of Rook you idiot, its a different mold. Takara Blast off is a unique mold, not a repaint of a jet mold you idiot. Vortex uses an updated version of the Hasbro Vortex too.

Computron and Blastoff are the exception, not the rule. It's a sham that Hasbro dropped the ball on these two, but otherwise, I think the Hasbro combiners look better, except for Computron and Devastator.

Rook is a cooler mold than Groove, and Hasbro is still releasing a deluxe Groove that looks just like the Takara one anyway. Also, Rook is his own mold, so your argumentt is flawed there anyway.
>>
>>82399458
>4/5s of Superion, Bruticus, Defensor, and Menasor are terrible molds

Hey, if you like buying the same mold 14 times be my guest. I'd rather not buy 6 different colors of Jets and Helicopters.

Ultimately I'm saying that your stance of the Hasbro "molds" being terrible is silly because even if you buy Takara, most of the combiners are the same mold as their Hasbro counterparts. So if they really where trash to you,you still bought some of that trash by going Takara.

He only returned to cock tease Prime fans enough to get them to tune in

THat's it

And trapping him again...what other choice did the writers have?

As far as we know, the only person who could conceivably beat Soundwave in a fight is Megatron himself (and maybe Optimus I guess if they ever got into it?) because they pretty much showed him to be unstoppable in any fight he did get in

So either:
>Soundwave goes back to the Shadowzone
>Soundwave gets nerfed enough that team bee can actually defeat him and put him in stasis
>Soundwave completely wins...but then fucks off for no raisin. Probably leaves earth completely because having him stick around causes a loose plot strand

Honestly, all three are shitty options. They should have left Soundwave alone

Yeah, but that is the TV show. The comics which were closer to the intended universe had no gender roles to the Transformers because Shooter and had this as plot points in issues where humans and other aliens that are gendered would identify Transformers as male which confused them, especially when they had pretender shells where would give the impression of being a giant man when in reality they were neither male nor female. This also allowed there to be challenging of of gender stereotypes where character roles like Starscream or Ratchet would be females in other stories but instead were the same as everyone else.

I don't really mind lighter modes but somehow RID isn't really doing it for me. TFA was lighter hearted, so lighter hearted that the Autobots all had melee and other gadgets (barring BB's low powered stingers) and the seriousness was allowed to creep up a bit over time. RID is just sort of meandering. They need to find a decent showrunner who can tie all the disparate parts together and make sure the show feels like it's building towards something - and more important who knows what the hell it's building up to.
