the fact that Hussie really was Lord English, in the end. or rather that LE was the embodiment of all Hussies own personal influence on the comic, all his own stylistic choices. that he was literally the combination of all Hussies own self-insertion characters.
the fact that the entire 'caliborn stealing the narrative' subplot was never actually resolved, and in fact Act 7 was simply another of Caliborns (presumably endless) 'Masterpieces'.the fact that Caliborn/LE actually did get better at THE ARTS. the fact that he probably really is, straight up, the Hero.
I just can't BELIEVE how fucking bad bringing Vriska back was, or how much of every character's development just got "nah"ed in the blink of an eye (except of course John and Roxy's, the two whitebread main characters after Hussie decided to make her the main alpha kid halfway through because she was already the most liked). Every bit of it the last acts of the comic felt like it was written specifically for meta reasons like author fatigue and dislike of his story's direction / development.

No. Homestuck for a while was one of the best webcomics out there. What it is, is a prime example of how burning yourself out on your workload can ruin your product.
When Hussie started the game kickstarter and started multi-month pauses, for a comic that thrived on quick updates, that's when it really just went to shit. Each return from hiatus only got worse and worse, you could see Hussie got less and less invested in his comic.

You can tell that they derailed around act 5. It feels like Hussie had a much simpler idea that turned into something he didn't really have complete control over. It was far too big and ambitious for Hussie to take on almost entirely by himself, but at the end of the day I guess it payed off for him. Everything up to EO5: Cascade was intricately plotted and part of Hussies original planning. Yes, Act 5.1 gave the trolls a lot more time and attention than he originally planned, but the gist of everything that happened and especially everything that was relevant in the end was solid.
It was Act 6 where everything went to shit, spiraled completely out of control, and ultimately Hussie just gave up.

I think the problem is more that he let the friendship of the 4 kids completely vanish. We'll get the occasional reminder of it throughout the comic, and it feel slike every big flash wants to say "hey! remember that these four are the main focus" but they simply aren't inbetween those flashes. Kanaya is more the main character than John. PM matters more than Jade.
