so he knew that Bucky killed Stark's parents because of the interview with Zemo when he asked him about 1991, right? Why did he say that he'd known for a long time?
>>82321560
He knew since TWS, the Zola files showed on the computer included every hit Bucky made under the mind-control, including the Starks' murder.
The real question here is why didn't Black Widow say anything, she was also there when Cap found out.
>>82321586
Why did Widow suddenly develop morals when Panther was about to fight/kill Steve and Bucky when she knew exactly what team she was on? I think the writers didn't have a reason for her to side with Stark but just made her agree with him because he needed more people on his team.
>>82321686
Widow likes Steve in a platonic friend way, TWS expanded on that shen he said he notices a good side in her that even she denies, she did have a reason because the least Nat wants after being used as a hirman in her spy days is to go illegal again, but her friendship with Cap's gets in the way of that.
why was everyone on cap's team except SW such a massive jobber
why did Iron Man wait until the arc reactor was almost comprimised to fire his chest repulsor?why didn't he fire it when Steve was bashing his shit in at the end?
>>82321787
because they're all underdogs with no real superpowers, GI-ANTS and Wanda are the exception of course.
>>82321787
>jobber
Because they are bad?
>guy with metallic arm
>guy with wings
>guy with bow
Aside from her and Ant-Man, they can't do much damage.
>>82321818
He didn't want to kill Steve in any point of the movie, he was just angered at Bucky.
>>82321818
>didn't
Because at the end of the day, he wasn't trying to kill him.
>>82321818Because he doesn't want to kill Steve. Bucky, on the other hand...
>>82321836
I liked how SW had to step in every single time someone on Cap's side was about to have their shit pushed in at the airport
>>82321560
He knew because Sola informed him, so yeah, its even longer than you think.
>>82321860
>>82321870
>>82321866but he was firing hand repulsors at steve anyway, I assume at a lower output designed to incapacitate, why not just do the same thing there?
>>82321560
He knew that Howard Stark was killed by Hydra. He didn't know for a fact that Bucky had been the one to do it, but he's not so much of an idiot that he never considered the idea. He knew that there was a very real and significant possibility it was Bucky who did it.
Then you have to think, if he didn't know or at least didn't think it was Bucky who carried out the hit on Howard Stark, would Steve still have acted the same way and kept quiet to Tony? Because if Steve only kept the secret because he thought Bucky was involved, that might be even worse than if he kept the secret to save Tony the grief of knowing his parents were murdered.
>>82321686
Widow's whole conflict revolves around killing, her guilt and trying to start over.
Team Iron Man originally wanted to capture Team Cap.
Panther is our for blood.
>>82321818
Because he doesn't want to kill Steve, even if he is pissed at Bucky.
>>82321919
He was most definitely doing it to protect Bucky, which is what makes Stark's rampage surprisingly understandable.
>>82321918
The repulsors are "just" concussive force. They pack punch but don't melt through you.
>>82321884
Only Bucky and Hawkeye, and even then Hawkeye could have taken Widow he was just hestiating because they're pals.
Bucky was the real weakest link. He was of pretty much of no help during the airport fight and needed to be saved 3 times. It's not entirely his fault as he is a weapons user and had none of them during the fight but still.
>>82321918
unibeams are for hard desperation attacks with power directed straight from the arc reactor, dont think i ever saw a low powered unibeam
Wait wait, MCU Aunt May is played by MARISA TOMEI?!?!
God damn Marvel, you guys are really bent on turning May into a... whatever the aunt equivalent of a MILF is, aren't ya?
Zemo was incredible in the movie.
>>82321918
The unibeam is his strongest repulsor, usually used when he means to fuck shit up.
Even at a low setting, its unlikely he would risk using it on Cap.
>>82321919
I think Steve knew the whole time but had no idea just how brutal the hit was. He just figured Hydra had WS cut his brakes and he crashed, end of story.
Not really worth noting to Tony, because it wasn't a personal thing.
>>82322059
I disagree. His entire plan was stupid, he decided that he'd try to frame someone in hopes the team may be divided over what to do with them.did Zemo know how Cap and Bucky were pals because of the Hydra book?
>>82322042
Marisa Tomei is 51 dude. She's older than RDJ.
>>82321991
The worst part is, this could have been prevented by simply talking to Stark at any point within those two years about what had happened and the circumstances involved. Having it revealed to him with Bucky right there and realizing Steve kept that information from him for all this time was the anvil that broke the camels back.
>>82322041
I know it's pretty much his signature move in the comics, how often does he use it in the movies? I vaguely remember seeing it in IM1 but I can't remember exactly where.
>>82322042
Tony actually says that a few times, he talks about how hot aunt May is.
>>82322120
Yeah, Steve never knew the details, just that Bucky was behind it.
>>82322135
Everyone knows Captain America and Bucky were pals. He was part of an exhibit at the Smithsonian in TWS
>>82322135
Anyone that knows anything about the WS' real identity would know about Him and Cap
>>82322135
>improbable gambits that view everything as a disposable asset to be manipulated
>not a good Zemo
Pick one.
>>82322144
Seriously for two years Cap knew Tony's parents were assassinated instead of dying in car wreck and never mentioned it just because MUH BUCKY
>>82322188
well in that case, did he know that TWS was Bucky Barnes because of the Hydra book?
>>82322023
To be fair Bucky should be the weakest link in the Airport fight since most of his skill set involves murder
>>82322144
>>82322246
TBF, "Yeah, my bff killed your parents" is a shit conversation to have on any circumstance.
Zemo's genius was revealing it to him when Tony was at his lowest.
>>82322023
Why did Hawkeye even come out of retirement to aid cap? He had no idea what was even going on anyway, he just felt he owed him a debt.
>>82322280
Probably. But really all he'd need is a picture of the Winter Soldier to realize that looks like Cap's old bff Bucky Barnes.
>>82321787
What?GiAnt-Man kicked all kinds of ass. It basically took all of Team Iron Man working together to take him down
why is tony's new butler ai british
>>82322280
He was decoding the leaked SHIELD files, remember? He says as much when Jack Bauring that Hydra agent in his basement.
>you can do anything if you have expertise and patience
>luckily, I have both
>>82322023
To be fair, Bucky's skillset is Elite Assassin and he requires an arsenal.
He was severely handicaped in the Airport.
>>82322328not wanting to start company wars by mentioning DCbut that didn't stop anyone from recognizing Hunter Zolomon was Jay Garrick.
>>82322135
Cap and Bucky are known to Zemo as pals because there's a museum dedicated to them. He most likely knew Bucky and the Winter Soldier were the same after BW released the HYDRA files.
>>82322336
Even when he was giant he didn't really do much other than fuck around with war machine, though
>>82322345
Wasn't it
>I have experience... and patience. And with those, a man can do anything
I don't think that's exactly it either though. It was a good Zemo line regardless.
>>82322314
It's a shit conversation to have, but it's a conversation that needed to happen at some point.
>>82322314
Nah man Cap's totally in the wrong here. He should have told Tony 'hey man I found some info that says hydra arranged the murder of your parents'. It would have been a terrible conversation but the right thing to do.
>>82322368
he single-handedly held the whole team off when Steve and Bucky got to the plane, that was all he needed to do, he had no intention of killing them.
>>82322381
Yeah, something like that.
Bruhl was damn good. I think the character needed more screen-time(he basically disappears between the Manchurian Candidate activation sequence and the third act) but what we had was pretty well-done.
>>82322449
He was great. Understated, but completely competent. He never looked worried or afraid or not in control. He knew exactly what he wanted - had - to do and he put everything into achieving it.
>>82322314
What about "my bff was mindraped by HYDRA for years and used as a tool to murder your parents, but it's totally not his fault, they totally brainwashed the shit out of him. Maybe you can help me find him and use your super science and vast resources to cure him, that way HYDRA loses an asset, you get justice for your parents' murder and I get my friend back?"
>>82322387
The thing is, remember that line about Cap not having a dark side in AOU? This is it.
The way he held son to his lost past, including people like Bucky, Peggy and the old WW2 days, that is his one personal flaw.
>>82322368
It was never meant to be anything more than a distraction, and he took down Spider-Man with him, arguably Team Iron Man's most useful member. He kept all of Iron Man, War Machine, Spidey and Vision (for a while at least) occupied and that's all he needed to do.
>>82322223
So close to quints
>>82322418
>>82322500
oh no, I guess you're right
it did tie them all up pretty well
>>82322187
He didn't even know that, he just assumed it.
>>82322365
I remember /co/ raging on what a stupid plot point that was but either way Zemo's a smart man and had Hydra files with details on the winter solider
>>82322482
There's that point where Zemo is talking to Panther at the end and all I could think was.
>this is just a nice acting moment between Daniel Bruhl and Chadwick Boseman. No bombast or horseshitt, just letting these two guys act off each other for a little bit
It was so refreshing.
>>82322144
That's also part of why it hurt him so bad. Cap had been betraying him all this time.
>>82322506
Zemo is always doomed to fall at the final hurdle.
>>82322487
I know Cap is your husbando but explaining the situation 2 years ago when he learned about it would've been a lot better situation than Tony finding out from the video of his parents murder.
>>82322120
>Not really worth noting to Tony, because it wasn't a personal thing.
How is it not a personal thing that the two most important people in his life were murdered?
>>82322648
By "final hurdle," do you mean his thwarted suicide attempt?
>>82322666
Except that's exactly what I said?
>>82322780
my bad I thought you were being sarcastic
>>82322500
To be fair that was kind of silly. Iron Man War Machine and Vision can fly. They could have flown past him (and I mean far past him, out of punching range) and ignored him. Instead they act like the only way past him is running through his legs.
Didn't watch Winter Soldier, but I didn't like Bucky at all. He came off as a faggot who kept putting up unnecessary resistance. We see him admitting he feels at fault for his past actions, but he continues to fight tooth and nail when the authorities come or when Stark gets butthurt so it comes off rather jarring.
Enjoyed the film though overall despite the slow first half. Spiderman and Antman dominated the scenes they appeared in. I'm not completely familiar with Marvel lore so I didn't really see much in Zemo, but he wasn't so bad by the climactic reveal.
>>82322608the moment when it was revealed that the calls from his wife is actually recording broke me, I kinda felt bad for him
>>82322578
He knew, Zola told him Bucky was behind it.
I liked that the 'So was I' line was delivered with spite in the actual movie.
>>82322806
Speaking of, why didn't War Machine fire a rocket at the Quinjet the MOMENT the fight began to ensure Bucky and Cap had nowhere to run?
>>82322855
Being sad over your past actions doesn't mean you want to be executed for them. It was made fairly clear that Buck would be dead if Cap didn't save him, either due to Ross' hit squad or Panther.
>didn't watch Winter Soldier
This is a pretty direct sequel to TWS, you should give it a look.
>>82322880
I knew where that was going as soon as it happened the first time, but it still worked thanks to Bruhl's performance.
Did Spider-Man appear more in the movie after he said something like ''I can keep going- Nah I can't''?
>>82322666
Yes, but then you can't have this movie, and Steve does have flaws.
>>82321560
what did you guys think aboutHawkeye using his bow as a fighting stick? Are we gonna get Ronin someday?
>>82322895
>That shield doesn't belong to you! My father made that shield!
RDJ as Stark was great here.
>>82322955
final post-credits scene.
>>82322140
she's still hot as fuck
I would
>>82322165
Dude, Tony. Pepper not enough?
>>82321918
That's why they're called "repulsors" and not "killinators". They fire concussive blasts, they don't incinerate you.
>>82323037
She left him.
>>82323037
Definitely not OLD enough to his tastes.
>>82322891
Zola just said "accidents will happen" and showed a picture of Howard Stark. Bucky's involvement was inferred, not stated.
>>82323049
when was that ever implied? are you having trouble there anon?
>>82323063
Shit, why?
Other than 'we couldn't make a new contract with Gwyneth' of course.
>>82323037
Tony says they're on a break. He was too caught up in being Iron Man.
>>82323117
she didn't want him to be IM but he just couldn't stop
>>82322975
>>82322895
Yeah RDJ has redeemed himself after halfassing his way through AOU in my eyes. He was great in this, especially in the heavy/serious scenes.
Any comic book references in the movie?
>>82323161
Eh, good riddance. I didn't like the relationship that much. Tony should always be a playboy with on and off things as a sort of constant to his character amidst the growth he undergoes.
>>82323117
Stark talks to cap in CW about her wanting Tony to forget about being Iron Man for once, how he destroyed his armors in IM3 just to recreate them, the Iron Legion, and finally Ultron to make things into and even bigger mess.
He implies he's adicted to being Iron Man, and Pepper hates it.
>>82323117
It's better this way. Cougar May > Pepper Potts.
>>82323117
He didn't hold his promise about not obsessing over building suits/saving the world. One can also imagine the Ultron fiasco didn't do good things for their relationship. He's pretty mopy about it.
>>82323180
BP does tons of his iconic poses, they make the CW cover with IM's repulsord reflecting off Cap's shield, Sharon quotes the "No, You move" speech, and I'm sure there are more.
>>82323219
>Uncle Stark
>>82323180
The whole movie is a comic book reference. You mean specific Civil War parallels? They've taken a lot of scenes and plot points from the comic, but altered them for the better.
So how did you guys like it? Personally, I prefer BvS, as it's more grounded in reality.
>>82323180
black widow asked Bucky "don't you remeber me?" not sure if that references the WS movie in general or the fact that in the comics, she was one of the people who trained him when they were working for the Soviets
>>82323320
nice bait
>>82323288
*stank
>>82322042
Well, yeah. It doesn't exactly make much sense for the aunt of a 15-year-old to be in her 80s. Honestly, even Ultimate Spider-Man's (the comic, not the cartoon; I don't even know what she looks like there) portrayal of May was kind of pushing it with the already completely gray hair.
>Peter pointing out that cap's shield constantly breaks laws of physics right after Cap throws it into the air with nothing to bounce back off and it comes back to him
>>82322855
>Didn't watch Winter Soldier
But why
Didnt see the movie yet, someone spoiler be all the important shit.
>>82323180
Sharon Carter delivers a loosley based version of Cap's "No, you move" speech.
>>82323117
Because there's not more Iron Man only movies so aside from Rhodes his supporting cast can't be fit in. And they were tired of coming up with "Pepper isn't here because X" excuses.
She was in Avengers 1 because it was a novelty at the time.
>>82323617
War Machine dies
>>82323644
but muh rescue or whatever her forcefield-only suit was called
>>82322906
Wanda would have grabbed it.
>>82323617
There's a war.
It's very civil.
>>82323660
Only his legs and he learns to walk again.
>>82322906
It might have hit She-Hulk in the tits and killed her.
>>82323368
She had a run in with him during her Shield agent days where she used her body to shield his hit target and he just shot through her to kill him anyway. It was brought up in the WS.
That's probably what she's referencing.
Widow actually doesn't seem to care for Bucky at all. At the end of WS she told Steve not to chase him, and she repeatedly tells him not to get involved with him this movie and just let the military deal with him.
I like how there was no bad guy the good guys had to obligatory fight at the end when they realize it was a misunderstanding. This felt more like a drama about friends superpowers than an action film.
>>82323664
Yeah. The comics dropped that like a hot Potato once IM 3 was out and that was it except for Avenger films and they didn't have to pretend Pepper was important anymore.
>>82323660
>>82323682
Lame.
>>82323672
Holy shit.
Cap dies or they chickened out?
>>82322140
And somehow she looks younger than RDJ.
Something tells me Homecoming's conflict will focus more on Peter fighting the urge to dick his aunt.
>>82323728
oh yeah, I forgot about her belly scar
>>82323802
He dies on the inside
>>82323820
PETER IS NOT FOR SEXUAL EVEN IF IT'S /SS/
>>82323802
Nah he doesn't die. They do cryogenically freeze Bucky at the end though. Aka he won't be in the next movie.
>>82323820
I doubt she's snorted as much coke in her lifetime as RJD.
>>82323617Oddly enough there's not too much to spoil., most of it you already know or can guess. I mean that in a good way.
Someone post the "Spiderman vs Antman" italian spiderman gif
>>82323865
Just in time for Cap to die and Bucky to take up his mantle. Thereby soft resetting the Captain America movies.
>>82323905
japanese
Can someone explain to me why Bucky jobbed so fucking hard? He's supposed to be one of the world's greatest assassins, with the same level of powers as Cap and probably Black Panther, maybe stronger. And he was unstoppable in the last movie. What the fuck happened?
>>82324031
He's only lethal when he's brainwashed.
Without that, he's just a normal soldier with a metal arm.
What was the post credits scene?
>>82323923
They won't do that now. Evans is game for more films.
>>82324069
confirmation of more spiderman in the future, probably with doc strange
>>82324098
Really? That is good news. But where can they go after Infinite wars?
>>82324031
He's a guy with guilt fighting nonlethally against guys he knows are good guys. Also he's used to having extensive support and carrying a massive arsenal.
Now he's just a solider with a metal arm.
He wrecks face for awhile against the good guys when his WS programming is switched on, but without it he's not quite as dangerous.
>>82324098
He'll become Nomad while Falcon takes over and Bucky becomes the Ronin or something. He just reminds me too much of Jetstream Sam, come on.
>>82324031
Why is Bucky jobbing so hard? Probably because he was holding back this time in the movie while in TWS and in the portion where he got his brainwashing turned on, he fucking wrecked people because he was willing to push his limits.
>>82324137
Avengers VS X-Men?
>>82324031
>As strong as BP
nah senpai
BP has a literal god on his side
>>82324137
I'm thinking they'll either do Secret Wars or House of M, once they get FF and X Men back.
>>82324221
Fox will never give the rights back. The length which they went to retain the F4 rights is downright stupid
I hope that in one of the movies they reference that page where the Wakandans refuse to give the rest of the world the cure to cancer because they're afraid it'd be turned into a weapon
>>82324031
He's holding back.
>>82324118
Might be cool
>>82321686
Right from the start, she always felt conflicted. She agrees with the accords but also believes in Steve. Throughout the movie, she keeps trying to convince Steve, but yields in the end because if Steve strongly believes in something then it must have a grain of truth. They're bros like that.
Poor Sam will never ever be Cap's BFF no matter how hard he tries.
>>82321787
Falcon and Hawk only have their weapons. Bucky is not in his Winter Soldier state, has been on the run for years as well (he was cared well by HYDRA before: constant mind wipes, checks on his health and arm, etc).
>>82321560
in the end of TWS we see Nat giving Cap an envelope with all the secret files of the Winter Soldier, she even tells him that what is inside will not be pretty, so we can assume there is a huge list of targets the winter soldier eliminated over the years.
>>82324265
I would have thought the same about Sony and Spiderman, but now they're working with Disney instead of against them, and it will clearly pay off.
It'd make a lot more sense for Fox to allow Disney/Marvel to use the characters in exchange for a cut of the movies' profits.
>>82321919
>He knew that Howard Stark was killed by Hydra. He didn't know for a fact that Bucky had been the one to do it, but he's not so much of an idiot that he never considered the idea. He knew that there was a very real and significant possibility it was Bucky who did it.
This is what I understood too
I hated Captain in this. He just came off as a douchebag.
>>82322290
>To be fair Bucky should be the weakest link in the Airport fight since most of his skill set involves murder
I don't know why this made me laugh, but yeah I agree.
>>82322325
his debt was to wanda, not cap.
it was to pay quickslav back for saving his life.
>>82321560
So as someone who thought most of Spidey's lines in the airport scene were Whedon tier writing, are the rest of his lines any better?Yes, I know Spiderman is quippy, hence pointing out that it's Whedon quality of quips. Some were good, though.
>>82324541
Oh yeah I forgot about that, you're right.
>>82324622
Both Ironman and Caps were douchebags in this movie.

>>82322961
it was a pretty cool development for him as a fighter
i just wanna see hawkdad as a gruff drill sergeant. he's good in the field but outmoded by all these new powers.
Damn, Steve's flaw is how he still holds on to his past life, which results to his biases on Peggy and Bucky.I like it
>>82322975
It's "You don't deserve that." I think. But yeah great line
I wanna know more WS, I liked the way when he "woke up", that is when he had his arm trapped in an hydraulic press and after he bumped his head on the helicopter window, he Bro'd up so quickly it was magicalDaddyhawk was GOAT, Fraction's Netflix Series when?
>>82323532
i think he was using the magnetic gauntlet from AOU where he could recall it from the ground.
Question: Were there some weird magnety things going on with Bucky's arm and Panther's suit? I might've misread the action but it looked like there was some repelling going on.
>>82323532
Wasn't a fan of that or the metallic arm line. Expected better of the Russos.
>>82324873
I think that has something to do with VibraniumIs Bucky's arm Vibranium?
>>82323990
>tfw the voice of Chinese Electric Batman is doing ANTS
>>82324661
Nah, Iron Man was trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Cap was just a huge douche.
>>82324871
I really like Bucky as well. What a sad character.
>>82324919
>smartass kid from the city who JUST started superheroing encounters a cyborg
>thinking he won't comment on it
expected better of anon
>>82324975
who turned Bucky into an anime?
>>82325021
Where am I saying I didn't expect that? He had some good battle dialogue, but most of it was bad. Raimi and Sony's were better than Marvels so far in the quip department.
Defensive spidey drones are worse than companywar shitposters.
Is there any sense to Bucky's codewords? Or are they supposed to invoke a feeling of mysterious Russian shit.
>>82324932
Don't think so. Only Vibranium that was ever in play was Cap's Shield, the stuff Ultron used to lift Sokovia, and Panther's suit.I hope Bucky gets a rocketto pawnch or a boo-yeah cannon, or at least a fucking grappling hook when he wakes up. Dude is in dire need of an upgrade.
>>82325010
>Treats Wanda like a baby when it wasn't even her fault for what happen at Logos.

>>82325246
Steve omits the truth. He doesn't lie about the truth.
>>82322325
Why wouldn't he? He's smart enough to knkw Cap is based and has been around Stark enough to know he needs a swift kick in the teeth.
The real question is why did Widow, Vision and War Machine join Tony at all. Panther gets a pass since he was motivated by vengeancen
>>82325303
regulation, in the real world, makes sense.
widow joins to clear her conscience and go straight. doesn't stick
vision joins because he sees the moral calculus.
rhodey joins because he believes in institutions and duty.
>>82322147
He uses it in Iron Man 1 to blast Stane when Stane is about to kill a car full of people or some shit like that, basically even rookie Iron Man was more concerned with saving people than rookie Superman was

>Widow, Vision and War Machine

>>82325303
War Machine tells you why he joins during his physio therapy at the end of the movie. Were you paying attention?
Widow joined because for the same reason Tony did. To amend and attone for the things she did.
Vision joined because he was basically Jarvis aka Tony 2.0
Can anyone realistically justify Cap keeping Tony's parent's assassination a secret from him?
That was a douche move and Tony reacted accordingly imo.
>>82325391

I'm American faggot
Please hold.
>>82325416

Oh wait
>>82325416
based russos for being fair to both sides of the conflict
>>82325416
Yeah, it was never relevant to the conversation and he never actually knew for sure. What good would it be for anyway?
Only worst case scenario would it prove to be a problem. Cap doesn't know he still has one movie where things go worst case scenario, much less that Zemo is involved.
>>82325416
Cap even tells you why he does it at the end of the movie. No, it is not justifiable.
>>82325416
Because he correctly figured that Bucky was the assassin. If it had been anybody else he would probably have opened his mouth ASAP after he woke up at the end of WInter Soldier.
>>82325462
yeah, what a faggot just like that pussy, Batman.
your parents are dead, GET OVER IT!
>>82325462
Tony going ballistic was a massive problem ONLY because of the current situation they were in and the source of his anger(Bucky) was right there. Cap didn't need to tell him it was Bucky who did it, he also didn't know that, but waiting for Tony to find out through some other source was a shitty call.
>>82325525
>Citing Batman as an healthy way of coping with parental lost
>>82325525
Granted, he did just see footage of Bucky strangling his mom after beating his father to death.
Why was Captain going to decapitate Tony with his shield? Like, WFT?
>>82325784
Wait. Didn't he aim for the chest plate himself? He was just holding it over Tony's head because that looks more dramatic, I don't think he ever intended to kill him.
>>82325094
>Is there any sense to Bucky's codewords? Or are they supposed to invoke a feeling of mysterious Russian shit.
>Classical conditioning theory involves learning a new behavior via the process of association. In simple terms two stimuli are linked together to produce a new learned response in a person or animal.
They're just words that were forced/hammered in him to trigger/stimulate the Winter Soldier.
>>82325989
He aimed for the chest plate only after Tony said that his father built the shield, before that the shield was over Tony's neck.
That scene was fucked up.
>>82325416
It can't be justified. Russos and Evans mention in interviews that in this movie, Cap shows a bit of selfishness. In other movies, we see him fulfilling his duty for the greater good. In this, he's like "Peggy's dead, I'm gonna be a lapdog again to some government--fuck that, I'm gonna save my bro this time."
His one weakness is his past life (AoU had a good scene showing his nightmare), and Bucky is the last remnant of that.
>>82326087
>He aimed for the chest plate only after Tony said that his father built the shield
Tony said that when Cap was walking away. The fight was already over and Cap had broken the arc reactor by then.
>>82326087
No, that line comes after Steve walks away victorious so he drops the shield on the floor.
Cap never aimed for his head, it was just a camera trick to make you think so and let the scene have more tension.
>>82326220
>>82326222
Oh, yeah. I feel better about it then.
>>82326087
Lies anon. Tony blubbered out the 'you don't deserve that' when Cap and Bucky were leaving.
>>82326087
But that's wrong. Tony says that after Cap's done hitting his chest place/reactor.
Tony blasts WS arm, Cap stops Tony by hitting his reactor with his shield, Tony's suit is ruined by this, Cap goes to Bucky to pick him up and leave, Tony then says "You don't deserve it, my father made that shield" and Cap responds by leaving the shield behind.
>>82326220
Tony really ought to cover up that reactor on his chest. He literally has a glowing weak spot right in the middle of his torso. Chest laser isn't worth it.
>>82326297
Bucky blasted himself, dude.
>>82326208
This, that's the whole point.
This version of CW is not black and white like the conflict in the comics.
Tony is both right in wanting revenge on Bucky, but wrong in wantng the Sokovia Accords turn the Avengers into weapons for the ONU.
Steve is both right in wanting the Avengers to remain autonomous, but wrong in wanting to spare his BFF from justice of his past crimes.
You can both hate and simpatize them bor different reasons, that's how the movie is supossed to play.
>>82326330
how does civil war the movie compare to civil war the comic?
does one do something particularly better than the other?
>>82326330
>but wrong in wantng the Sokovia Accords turn the Avengers into weapons for the ONU.
>Steve is both right in wanting the Avengers to remain autonomous
NO! NO! That's the right thing! ONU won't turn into a weapon and if the movies do that than the movies are going to treat it the wrong way. The Avengers need culpability. They need to be account for.
Fuck you, Hitler! Fuck you! Steve became Hitler!
>>82323905
here you are anon
>>82326387
It's less "edgy", has less violence and destuction porn than the comic.
IM was a straight up villain in the comic, here, you can actually simpatize with his actions.
Cap was more of a self-rightous blokehead in the comic, here he was a personal flaws a sa motivation in wanting to spare Bucky from IM's vengeance.
The secret identities play no part, registration's about superhumans not acting unless the goverments order them to.
I liked the movie more than the comic, wheter it impacts the universe mre is yet to be seen, I'd hope so, because Cap is a nomad now, the Avengers were disassembled, and the Accords ban super-vigilantes to take unregistered action.
>>82326458
The one calling the shots is Thunderbolt "Make the psycho soldier a hulk so he can kill my daughter's BF" Ross and they straight up confined Vision and Wanda just because they are "weapons of mass destrucion" instead of people in the movie.
I'd not sign for that shit either.

>>82326567
>Accords ban super-vigilantes to take unregistered action.
What does this mean for Daredevil?
>>82326698
He's just a street-level superhero so probably nothing.
>>82326698
It means the US gov is authorized to arrest him because he is a criminal acting against the Sokovia accords, as any enhanced being in the MCU would be from now on.
>>82326674
I'd think so, I don't think "dark reign" will take place like it did in the comics, but I can see "The Initiative" happening.
were the spidey clips tony showed ever posted online or anything? it could've made for neat ARG style marketing, but it sort of felt weird as is. like it wasn't even hinted at that (other than "we got a cat that swings" line) and just thrown at us almost expecting us to be familiar with this spider-man already.
>>82326698
Daredevil was already an outlaw, this doesn't change much unless he decides to surrender himself and register after his jail time.
>>82325371
Fucking Marvel where is my MVC4?
>>82326387
The movie doesn't go to the same ridiculous lengths as the comic to demonize Tony so it seems justified for Cap to try and kill him, because they aren't activity out to kill each other in the movie.
Tony and the overall conflict is handled better in the movie. I felt most of the characters were acting like literal babies in the comic and you just ended up disliking all of them - whereas in the movie you feel kind of bad for both Cap and Tony.
>>82326851
>expecting us to be familiar with this spider-man already.
Do you know anyone who isn't? This was 'Spiderman' as most people see him when they think of the character. They didn't need an introduction.
>>82326903

>>82327072
i'm talking about the specific clips themselves of spidey swinging around. they look like the found footage, 20 second long clip that would've attempted to go viral on the real life internets.
it was strange to see them thrown up so flippantly
Can someone explain how cap and bucky are able to hurt tony when his suit was able to withstand a tank shot in Iron Man 1? I loved the fight but this bothered me a little. Cap is apparently not super-human but he seems super-human in the movies.
>>82327244
mcu cap is superhuman, not peak human
guy can prevent a helicopter from taking off
bucky has a knock off super soldier formula and a cyborg arm
the two of them working in tandem can wreck shop on iron man in close quarters and no room to fly around
>>82327108
there you go friend!
>>82327244
Iron Man was getting fucked because he was being repeatedly wailed on from both sides in close hand to hand combat, and MCU Cap is def super human.

Imagine you're in a big metal ball. Then the ball gets rolled down a hill. You're gonna get your shit wrecked just by the virtue of bouncing around inside that shit.
Similarly, Tony was getting rocked by Bucky's metal arm and Cap's shield, so it was doing some serious damage to his precious little head rattling around in his helmet.
I dunno, but speaking of the funeral, I got the biggest fucking grin on my face when I realize she was doing the River of Truth speech.
People talk shit about this, saying it's cheesy, it's advocating people to act like monsters because they think it's right, but I still get goosebumps reading this.

There is ONE THING I didn't like about this movie (the second spoiler), but it's a really minor nitpickWhy didn't Scott just go small and run away after the airport scene? Does his Giant status have a limit that carriers over to being small?
Why didn't no-one make a big deal of the Ant-man suit when Scott was imprisoned? Hank should've been furious and Scott should've been worried about that tech falling into the wrong hands. You know what happened in his movie.
>>82325108
> Wanda
He put in the house because he know how big asset she would be with Cap and because she didn't want to sign.
Still his option was better than the prison option
> Accords
Yes and no.
The Accords fit really well into Tony
It was being 8 years, he knows something big is coming but he cannot just watch and see Earth and the Avengers be destroyed from the inside.
Also he is always thinking how the Accords are the soft option.
> Spidey
He told the kid to just stay back and web them all, and he also knows how strong Parker is.
>>82328288
Think he got knocked out. Was waiting for Spidey and him to talk while they were both down, which would have been awesome.
>>82328275

sorry if this is explained. just a lot happened in the movie.
after the airport scene, why does widow tell tony to remove his ego?
>>82328592
My interpretation is that Tony perceived her "betrayal", (ie letting Cap go) as a personal slight against him. As in, she let Cap go for no reason other than to hurt Tony and his cause.
He didn't consider that there may be more powerful motives in play.
>>82328633
that makes a lot of sense.
man...no one really had a good day in this movie.

>>82328677
Not really
He wanted to kill himself, but BP stopped him
Speaking of BP, is Bucky going to be in Black Panther movie?
>>82328802
i dunno, but i hope he stays on ice long enough for that plot point to be relevant.
we're getting klawe for sure, possibly as the main villain? who was martin freeman playing?
>>82328802
I hope so, dude hasn't had ANYTHING go right in his life after he got shipped off to Europe.
>>82328928
Maybe he won't wake up during Black Panther, but his frozen body will be some sort of Maltese Falcon that kicks the plot off.
Alternately it's going to be a while before the BP solo film comes out so maybe it's a convenient excuse to explain why he doesn't do anything for the next year or so, compared to the two years since TWS where people were throwing all sorts of theories about him being a hobo.
>>82325330

>>82328458
Mine did. I even heard a guy yell ANTS somewhere, which made me laugh.
The second biggest laugh was when Falcon Redwings Iron Man in the face. They might as well have overlayed a big fat comic book font "BONK" on the screen.
Visionball and the "water" truck and the MIT Dean also got good chuckles.
My personal favourite moment was seeing Joe Russo with the Mario moustache looking like an idiot, though.

One of the better ones, for whatever it's worth.
I knew they were already going to fight in that base because trailers but I was totally expectingCap/Tony/Bucky to fight those Winter Soldiers before confronting Zemo, only to found them dead instead.
>>82323180
They do a slow motion shot of pic related.
Sharon Carter does a paraphrased version of the "No, you move." speech at Peggy's funeral.
It was much better than Millar's version, at least i wasn't questioning character motivations all the time and Tony's character arc actually made sense.
>>82329853
did Zemo only shoot them in the head or did he drain their blood, possibly trying to extract the serum?
I wasn't sure if I saw little pipes in their arms
>>82329853
I kinda' wanted to see a supersoldier tag-team, but it wouldn't make sense.
>>82329891
Would have been awesome if they had really done that scene with the others lying around them.
>>82329895
Millar's superpower is making shit comics that end up being good movie adaptations.
>>82326387
I think the smaller cast of characters allowed for a better conflict and the accords to make more sense.
In the comic, in order for all 200 plus heroes to get involved the law is ridiculous. If you have any sort of hero skills you HAVE to work for the government as a registered hero or you go to jail. As a result anyone who doesn't want to be a government worker has to be a rebel and they have to fight about it.
In the movie Cap Falcon and Wanda say they're out, and they're allowed to just walk away bar no heroics, and the problem is then that a situation comes up that Cap really wants to get involved with and does so despite the accords.
In the movie it works because the plot allows for conflict that makes sense. In the comic some character HAVE to be irrational assholes about things because otherwise the situation would be easily resolved.
>>82329853
That was an amazing turn. Spoiler tags, because why not.I thought that after the big airport brawl, Marvel pulled their parachute and decided to make everyone go back to being best buds. Iron Man and Cap consolidate their friendship over the brutal beatings of insane Soviet-era supersoliders.
But then "SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER" the rift between them deepens and leads to an even more emotional, brutal fight
>>82329922
he shot them in the head while they slept. it was never about the super soldiers.
the empire he wanted to crumble wasn't any nation, it was the avengers. he wanted to destroy them from the inside by taking tony, cap, and bucky to the facility and showing tony the night his parents died.

I think that was entirely intentional. They set the audience up into believing the Winter Soldiers will make them kiss and make up for the greater enemy, only to be subverted and the fight to get more brutal.

Spiderman did actually. He had a blast at the fight (it wasn't a personal breakdown for him because he didn't know any of these people well) and at the end of the day he's all psyched to up his hero game thanks to Tony's backing.

Destroy the Avengers. He won. That's why he was going to an hero.
>>82330019
I'm guessing you didn't see the movie.
Revenge. The Avengers killed his family horribly during AoU, and he made a promise to bring them down and tear them apart like his family was.
He knew he couldn't kill them himself, as stronger men had tried. So he set them up to fight and kill eachother, tearing them apart within themselves. Essentially, if an enemy teared them apart, they could grow back together, but if they tore themselves apart, the wound would be much deeper.
I feel bad for War Machine

Widow is logic, what with a good chunk of her character being driven by guilt over her past actions and wanting to make amends.
She initially had SHIELD, and then the Avengers, but both are gone now, and the Accords are what remains.
Panther is with them out of convenience in order to get Bucky.
Rhodey is military.
And Vision is using robot logic (the Accords make sense given past events, the problem is that its a system that can still fail and be biased/missused).
I almost expecting Vision to call Scarlet Witch a mutant when he was babbling about who she was and whatever.
Then remembered oh right they can't

http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Friday_%28Earth-616%29
Fucking loved this film but Zemo's evil masterplan seems so flawed and contrived it hurts. Did he really do this solo? I just don't buy it.
He managed to bomb the UN meeting while at the same time framing a super spy and making every intelligence agency on the planet believe it.
Stealing the identity of the psychiatrist about to interview the most wanted man on the planet is as simple as killing him and walking into the base.
Even after this colossal security cockup, most people are still totally blindsided, including numerous genius billionaire playboy philanthropists and infinity stone wielding cyborgs.Somebody that's not Cap rescues Bucky, but that's not suspicious at all.
If all this fails, he's got his ace in the hole waiting casually for him in Siberia, or at least he's HOPING he does. He gets lucky again!
Because there's a fucking CCTV camera in the middle of a forest road that captured WS killing Stark. EXTRA LUCKILY, the Super spy just shoots the camera and leaves evidence behind.
Where does this guy's money come from? I know I must've missed some things, I was tired as all hell when I watched it so I'm assuming I have misinterpreted this. Help me out.
During the stinger, did anyone else get the impression thatPeter kinda wants to bang Aunt May?

>>82330925
It wasn't 'right' seeing as Bucky was a victim who had been brainwashed and was therefore not responsible for his actions, but it's also extremely understandable Tony would want to kill him in that moment. You could see his mental state declining as he watched the footage.
>>82331463
>Stealing the identity of the psychiatrist about to interview the most wanted man on the planet is as simple as killing him and walking into the base.
>Because there's a fucking CCTV camera in the middle of a forest road that captured WS killing Stark
those were the only things that bothered me in the movie
as for the other things, he's just "has patience and experience"
>>82331474

>>82331391
>>82331582

>>82331582

>>82331463
This was me and I just realised I neglected to say Bruhl was brilliant, he's still the second best villain we've had.
>>82331614
it all happened in 36hrs, he wouldn't have enough time to start rotting
>>82331614
>My issue is how nobody in Zemo's stolen apartment room could smell a dead psycharatrist
I think the only reason the body is in the bathtube is because it was put on ice. Zemo wanted the body to be found and identified, so he wanted it in a position and state that is pristine. Just add new ice every day and drain out the old melted ice.
>>82331463
I don't understand what's particularly strange about him bombing the UN, or stealing the credentials of the murdered psychiatrist. That was all United Nations stuff and not necessarily privy to any extra enhanced security. Zemo learned from the SHIELD info and manipulated the team and yeah, the plan is kind of a wildly circumstantial one but that's Zemo in a nutshell. These roulette-style plays where he manipulates any outcome are one of his trademarks as a villain.
As for his abilities, he does have a background in extremely shady war-torn Balkans black ops which should justify a lot. His father remains a mystery, and he may well have the wealth and ancestry he does in the comics. but it isn't commented on so we should probably assume he doesn't. What he had was will, time, information and patience. Did he arrange the Crossbones job at the start? Probably not, but he saw the opportunity and took it. Who knows how long he was waiting for an opportunity like that?
Zemo is a foil to both sides of the Civil War debate. None of Tony's enhanced security, surveillance, working with governments and law enforcement matters because Zemo was able to trump it all with a few disguises by playing on the prejudices and agendas of the people in charge. On the Cap side of things, Zemo shows that one man with no control or oversight can cause an immense amount of destruction. He's a particularly strong foil for Cap because Steve had the dedication to come through a selection process and be made into a true hero - Zemo has that same incredible dedication, but only for his revenge. And he wins! He's the least powerful Marvel villain to date, and the most successful one.
>>82331659
>I got the impression he only cared about him mom in the fight. Please tell me he cared about his dad too. After all he saw that video of his dad talking to him in Iron Man 2
He had daddy issues his whole life, but he never had a bone to pick with his mum.
As a spiderfag he kinda felt like a disappointment, but loved black panther and GiAnts, do I have bad taste or maybe I didn't understand the point of having spidey in the movie?
>>82331614
It was a hotel, he didn't let anyone in, it was for a night or two at most and he had the body cooled in the bath.
I really think they're going to redeem Zemo. There's a clear parallel between the extent to which Bucky is considered redeemable and the extent to which Zemo is. And the actual heroes in this went through an arc of revenge that compares to his own, they just stopped sooner. I don't know if Marvel are actually going to do a Thunderbolts movie, but this is a Zemo who could lead the Thunderbolts.
>>82331659
I thought it was quite telling he chose not to say 'he killed my parents' instead of mom.
>>82331764
I think this Spidey is by far the best incarnation of Spidey ever: he really feels like a teen, he has the inappropriate in-combat jokes, he's kind of starstruck but at heart was real principles of justice he'll go to the wall for. He and Ant-Man did kind of cameo but I felt it worked okay.

>that stairway fight
So how is Black Widow gonna be any help against Thanos? I mean, at least Hawkeye has superhuman aim. Give him a magic bow and arrow or whatever and bam, he's useful. What can Black Widow do that Captain America can't do better?

>>82331988
Make her spread her legs and use her as bait.
>>82331804
He cared more about getting his father's approval than the actual Howard Stark as a person though. Tony feels Steve is undeserving of his father's praises and affection, since he is now aiding his murderer, while Tony, his actual son, has never felt he got the love and approval he deserved.
>>82331988
Spy shit?
I loved how collected he was. The ability to be charming and flirty with the hotel maid while underneath he was totally dead, living for hate.
We got so many good scenes of Zemo in ths movie. Okay no mask, no sword, but:
>Scene of him casually disregarding a HYDRA agent as a means to an end
>Scene of him psychologically torturing Bucky
>Scene with a dangerous fixation on Cap
>Sympathetic villain scene
>'lol fuck you I won' finisher
He was always so calm. He never seemed angry, or not in control. Would he have had a plan for anyone who showed up in Siberia? I don't really care if we never see him again - that was a good villain arc.

The shot on Wakandan soil has a hi-tech lab with a black Wakandan scientist putting Bucky on ice. Black Panther and Steve Rogers look out the window to a lush rainforest and waterfall with a huge imposing panther statue.
Black Panther flies a panther jet at one point, with markings that match the teeth on his suit. One of the Dora Milaje shows up and stares down Black Widow in another scene. When King T'Chaka is on screen he talks about Wakanda making a social mission to other countries in the aftermath of the vibranium theft in Age of Ultron. The Wakandan delegation bombed at the start of the movie are a social enterprise trying to help Nigerians.

I thought it was kind of hilarious when Tony said he was Cap's friend, too, when Steve so plainly doesn't want to hang out or be buddies with Tony. >people moving moving on with life despite fucking aliens dropping out the sky and levelling new york
>people in jessica jones not believing in shit despite the same aliens dropping out the sky
I think Civil War was the first marvel film to really acknowledge the impact of the avengers whereas in other film/series it's just a background point.

This. Although its not just debt, he genuinely cares for Wanda and regards her as family.

Why would he need to be redeemed for that?
He could just "lead" the team and play them all like fiddles for his own gain. I don't want every villain that survives to be on the big redeem train like they are gonna do with Loki and Nebula.

Vision joins because he desperately wants to be accepted, at any cost. It's pretty much the same motives and logic as his robo-family in Tom King's comic. Also, Wanda being an actual witch is all but confirmed by the less than subtle subtext of the world's hostility (religious nuts ahoy) to her; a literal witch hunt.
