Well romance obsession is a pretty large one, given that stems into other areas of interest like films or books, given that can be the driving factor for interest, like characters or plot for other people. I imagine Nepeta would love cheesy romantic films as much, if not more than Karkat. Outside of that, she seems to be one of the more sympathetic trolls, caring about what happens to others close to her even if she's not fond of them, which is similar to Karkat who is noted as being very caring for others. That's likely the big connection the sufferer and the disciple shared as well.
I think much of the thinking behind the two being together is a positive influence for Karkat. He's so hilariously insecure still that he needs someone to draw him out of that shell. It still burns me up that he and Kanaya never bonded as moirales after Gamzee went off the deep end.

Oh I agree, I loved the time the two were together as he always seemed to keep his cool better around her. I just wish it'd actually played into his development over the course of the comic as it seemed like an obvious way to show him growing in the wake of the tragedy that happened on the meteor. She could have taught him how to keep his cool better and he could have taught her how to be more forward thinking on obtaining what one wants, for Kanaya that could have been tied in to either Rose's problems with alcohol or the matriorb quest which she was so conflicted about.

Stephen King's ending was fine. Absolutely fine.
The issue with the dark tower is entirely different.
After the series gets to about book 3 or 4 Stephen openly admits that he lost the original notes he had for the story from when he was a kid. He started writing it as a pulp when he was 19.
When he started writing it again he was a different guy. A better writer, maybe, but creatively vapid and hollow. That's why there's a massive deviation from the ideas presented about the Dark Tower in the first book and the final book. It's also why there is a MASSIVE tonal shift mid series.

The most glaring plothole regarding Caliborn's masterpiece is WHY. Why did John decide to go back to that instant? To fulfill his destiny and create Lord English? It doesn't sound like the kids knew what the outcome of the fight will be. But if they do know, then that's just depressing. John's retcon powers give him the ability to defy the alpha timeline safely. If he knew what the outcome of the fight would be, and chose to do it anyway, that means he choose to obey fatalism even though he had the tools not to.
Their motivation is extremely important in determining the moral implications of Homestuck's ending as well as the nature of the fates of the main characters. It's a vital element of the story, possibly even more vital than knowing the fate of Lord English himself.

My personal theory is that while John CAN change the Alpha timeline he can't change the events that go on overall.
Like how he retconned the entire Gameover timeline but it still happened and the sum of reality still took it into account with the GO!Ghost still existing and all. So while John can do basically whatever he wants with the Alpha timeline in the whole of things that was already planned.
And for Caliborn he's clearly exists AFTER retconing happens since him becoming LE requires it. So this means Caliborn's e ultimate Lord of Time power is not that the Alpha timeline bends over backwards to make it favorable to him its really the alpha alpha timeline or the overall events of reality that does so.

There was a forum filled with fanfiction, and the loss of that is probably pretty shitty for the people who wrote all that fanfiction, but I don't care about fanfiction so it doesn't really bother me.
There was also a different(?) forum for roleplaying which was probably bad because, you know, forum roleplaying.
