So /co/, what do you think about having a rat/rats as the next protagonist(s)? There is so much potential in that route after the Milk Trial massacre.
The rats have always had a strenuous relationship with the other mutants, but after the massacre and the relegation of power from security to the newly bolstered police force it's only a matter of time that something happens to the rats, especially if it's part of Jacob's agenda.

Everyone in Endtown unanimously agrees that the rat sec are bastards and need to be taken down, seeing every single one of them at fault. And like you said, Jacob could deal with them, and I can see that happen too because then it'd get even more mutants to support him. Getting rid of such a huge thorn in the side will cause many to flock to his side.
Though, if there is a rat protagonist, either it's going to be one of the million in the force, or the glasses-rat. Always the possibility of a new character, though I'm not sure how that would work.

Tomorrow we will test Personal Objectives. Personal Objectives are basically quests you design for your character. Be completing them you gain back MP as well as XP. There are, however, conditions.
>Your quest must correspond to a personality trait you have.
>Revenge and killing are hollow victories. You gain nothing from a PO that devoles around making someone ded.
Examples:
>Frank: Provide a real solution to a big problem, Sarah wanting to fix Unity.
>Competitive: Upping a rival in a field. Mallard and the other nerd duck in Drakesville is an example.
>Gentle: rescuing a specific person or a group of people. Walt in pepco stadium is an example.

Taking a shot in the dark here with this guess. From the outside it looks like pretentious furry trash. Going into the threads, when people focus entirely on the waifus, it sort of confirms their theory.
But then people bring back up the really fucked up shit, non-readers get curious, ask questions or look into those comments a bit more. A lot of people respond with "just read it". Eventually they do, and the beginning leaves a lot to be desired, until it finally hits Sparkplug. Then you're stuck reading it forever.

What you mutate into is random.
There has been no mention of 'the rat mutants in Endtown have been fucking so fast they're going to overpopulate the whole colony in a few years'.
Even if they were a result of rat mutants giving birth at an accelerated gestation/litter cycle (assuming litters even happen with mutant birth, which we've seen no evidence of), the type of mutant the child becomes is random, rat pregnancies wouldn't result in more rats all the time.

The part that really creeps me out is that it's still Lyn's face. Other monsters are just person gone, here is a random monster. With Lyn it still has parts of Lyn but stretched and tortured. And his face still there expressing pain, even if that face came out of his new tail.

We don't know yet, though the complete lack of any animals suggests the it's potentially wiped them out.
Either it just flat out killed them, or mutated them into crazy fang monsters which aren't really viable as a species and have mostly died out by now due to fighting and lack of food.
That said, it wouldn't surprise me if the virus managed to create a few 'uplifted' animals, i.e. humans get animal stuff mixed in, and animals got human stuff mixed in, so that the end product is similar. Vegetation apparently survived, but who knows how unrecognizable that is too.

Voice actors wouldn't matter, so long as they can emote successfully with a chipmunk voice.
Famous voice actors wouldn't help much either, since they'd be near unrecognizable with the "helium effect", and would be more of an investment than simply getting good voice actors that work with the high voices.

In a hypothetical case that a series would happen, i think that the helium effect will have to stay out. It will have sense in universe and it'canon yes, but after some minutes it will become annoying and it would be hard to take seriously the characters. Now it's possible to make the characters change voices when they mutanted to resemble the idea of helium effect

Schism is basically body dysmorphia - the mind not feeling like it belongs in its body. It can creep up on you slowly, like with Gustine and other Endtowners, or be rapidly induced by a traumatic event, like with Jim and with a lot of people after the virus outbreak. When schism is triggered you become irreversibly insane and homicidal. It doesn't make you mutate or give you superpowers by itself. I'd rather have it in grayscale like the comic. Imagine this:
-The opening shows a colorful city with some hints of a retro future. Then we see a street with people doing their everyday business, maybe one or two just having a smoke, then suddenly one mutates into a monster and panic starts, at that very moment the scene quickly desaturates into gray tones.
With rapid pacing the scene jumps to a random apartment where a duck mutant wakes up startled and rushes to the window to look down to the street, she sees the monster attack and screams then turns around to see her reflection in the mirror and screams even harder.
We switch back to a view of the city again, the sky turns red as an aircraft flies above and drops a Zero Bomb. It explodes, consuming the city innstantly in a dome of light which turns the screen white. It flashes back quickly to the now ruined city and the night sky.
We jump to a random place in the city where topsiders pass by some rubble, searching. Behind it, the duck from before and a cat mutant start running away but the duck gets hit by a zero beam and turns into dust and the camera pans to the sky. It pans back to the ground, we are now somewhere in the great waste. The survivng cat mutant arrives at the spot and a pod rises from the ground, inside it there's the "Welcome to Endtown!" sign, it gets hit with a can of beans. The mutant gets inside the pod which vanishes into the dust again. The camera pans out to the sky once more and and you can see the moon now looks like an eye a second before the screen goes black.
