Look at what they can do when they're not story boarded by a bunch of American retards.
Anyone have that quote of the people from that studio talking about how they hated Korra as a character, found her obnoxious.
Looks like Avatar and Buddhism if they had a baby

I'm feeling the sound design and mixing
>>82065474
Holy fucking shit,this looks gorgeous.
>>82065474
China is giving amazing films, I'm impressed by the quality.
>>82065569
>frontier of animation
>animation is mainly made by koreans
>chinese only did the writing
That shit's gorgeous. I wish I understood chingchong.
>>82065601
Nigga Korra was animated in Korea number one. Number two they didn't have a movie budget. And number three they actually did a good job.
>>82065474
Chinese animation only needed quality, their culture is still untouched unlike western and Japanese shit who can't get more generic so their people are a mine of unique ideas.
>>82065940
>so their people are a mine of unique ideas
>Journey to the West retelling #603
>>82065967
>Journey to the West retelling #603
Done by westerner or Japanese, now we can see the real deal and much more.
But yeah china communist, so china bad.
>>82066001
>Done by westerner or Japanese
Nigga chings do it all the fucking time.
>>82066259
Not Japanese faggot.
>>82066283
Same thing. Chinese, Korean, and Japanese shit goes on /a/. /co/ is for western stuff.
>>82066259
>implying the Japanese and Chinese belong on a board together
>>82066324
Does the fact that all Western """""""animation""""""" is done by koreans in sweat shops and the only things the west does anymore is story board affect that comment at all?
>>82065940
>Culture untouched.
99% of Chinese culture was destroyed between 1933 and 1980 thanks to Japan and the Communists.
What we're seeing are those parts that the Party felt were harmless enough to survive, or could be re-purposed.
>>82066324
>/co/ is for western stuff.
Yes, everything west of Japan. Which is everything. But Japan.
>>82066395
Couldn't you argue that America is actually east of Japan?
>>82066372
>99% of Chinese culture was destroyed between 1933 and 1980 thanks to Japan and the Communists
Care to elaborate?
>>82065601
eh she was kinda meant to be "obnoxious hothead teen: the character" anyway
i kinda loved that part of the series
the plot and especially the use of escalation sucked tho
>>82066414
If you keep going West eventually you hit America
>>82066414
Yes but the rules don't say anything about any of the other directions.
>>82065474
I think I legitimately will start following Studio Mir's works.
These Korean fuckers are amazing, at the time their animation was making me defend season 2 of Korra.
>Dat Bolin saving president fight that is synchronized with Nuktuk's fight sequence

>>82065940
>still untouched
They've been under foreign regimes at least four times in their history, all of which were proto-turks, turks or cultures that belonged to the folk of turkish nomadic cultures and most of which lasted at least a hundred years.
>>82066369
Who cares if it's animated in Korea. Animation can be outsourced, it doesn't make Last Airbender or Korra non-western. Considering the primary market was to western audiences. This is aimed at the Chinese, therefore belongs to /a/.
>>82066512
China still doesn't belong on /a/ fampai.
>>82065601
>asians--let alone koreans-- finding brash women obnoxious
color me surprised
>>82065474
I understand Studio Mir will be handling the animation, but will there be any Chinese animators working on it? There are some talented ones out there, getting to work on a movie is a good chance for them to hone their skills.
>>82066441
The Communist party came up with all sorts of rules that involved getting rid of and banning stories that didn't involve poor working men
>>82066441
Simple; the Japanese Empire sought to remove any intellectual opposition to it by burning books, executing officials, etc. Then the Communists did exactly the same thing, but on overdrive, especially during the Cultural Revolution. What survived largely did so because of Taiwan and Hong Kong.
>>82065940
>china
>their people are a mine of unique ideas.
I came into this thread to post the opposite. Chinese media is severely stunted because of censorship and government patronage of entertainment (which just makes propaganda, basically)
It looks cool (except for the stupid looking animu eyes on the dolphin) but the story will probably be generic at best
>>82066001
Several of the highest grossing films in china are journey to the west adaptations. they do it all the time, but we don't hear about them because they are shit
>>82066512
/a/ is only for japanese(or japanese led) animation
all else is /co/
>>82065601
>Anyone have that quote of the people from that studio talking about how they hated Korra as a character, found her obnoxious.
Didn't Koreans love Meelo, and were the ones who came up with the fartbending thing and wanted Bryke to add it to the show?
The Koreans in the studio probably hated Korra because they were a bunch of herbivores, not the same reasons western fans disliked her.
>>82065927
they're both animated by MIR. Season 2 of Korra was briefly animated by Perriot, the people who do Naruto, but MIR returned to finish season 2 and finish the rest of the series.
