Finally watched it. Best 3D movie by Disney. Sad the only problem was there was a special need guy in the theater that every so often would give out a moan (and yes he was special need and not jerking off). Tbh I think what drew me to Zootopia after I had watched it (Because I went into it thinking it was a generic Disney movie) was because at the very least I felt the writing was solid.
I'm a sucker for decent screenwriting. I like plotting character arcs, seeing if I can pick up on important details for plot, if it's trying to say something etc.
Zootopia might not be AMAZINGLY well written, but it is solid, I will say that much.
Aside from the part where Judy learns to drive a train instantly. That part irked me a bit.

Assuming its the same team, I'm pretty sure we have nothing to worry about. And an average (I'm not even gonna say bad, I doubt they would do a bad sequel) wouldn't bring down the quality of the first movie.
Really theres almost nothing to lose from doing another one. Theres areas of the city we haven't seen, they could do any number of plots now that both Nick and Judy are cops with actual resources to use, theres plenty of room for character growth between the two, even platonically if they were to go that route, and we could explore more of Nick's past. Theres plenty of room for material there.

It's likely that we think the muzzle scene was darker compared to some of the other Disney scenes is because we can relate to that scene much more compared to lets say a close friend or family member dying.
We probably gone through atleast some form of treatment as kid Nick did, maybe not to the same extent, but when that scene happened, It probably set off those feelings we felt as kids when we happened to be in those situations, so we grow more attached to the character that experienced that situation because we can relate, and sympathize with them.

You know, hearing about the production on this made me kind of respect Disney Studios. The fact that they were willing to let them develop the dark, very unconventional version of Zootopia for so long seems like evidence that they didn't force the filmmakers to change the script. I actually wonder if that last point would be any different since Judy is both larger than most rabbit species and bipedal. It would definitely be shorter than a human's 9 months, considering how much smaller rabbits in the movie are, but they're a lot closer to humans than they are in real life

I figure this is what happened, only Nick's dad dies/disappears earlier on. Nick tried to follow in his father's footsteps through the scout thing.
