It has been broken down many times before but in short, Yang is a tall flurrying fighter who throws no punchs of note other than hooks and fails to keep her fucking hands up. She works on a straight line, shows little variety and kicks at an incredibly close range while hoping just to overwhelm people with her bullrushes.
Now the thing to remember is that this isn't boxing, it's fighting so form isn't all that important if what you're doing works. The issue is that what Yang is doing only works on non-superpowered folk and/or individuals who are stupid enough to stand and bang with her at the distance she needs to work from. A distance that they have to keep giving her by retreating slowly.
People can dance off line of her, catch her coming in, and even brave the volley considering that eventually she'll just end up chest to chest with her opponent and has absolutely no instinct for, or skill at the actual clinch game.
And then there is all the issues with having a fighting style based entirely on rotation but not distance.

The thing about fighting styles is that they really only differ in the philosophy of approach. There's only a few ways to throw a punch or kick correctly and where the individuality of styles comes out is in how those attacks are delivered from the stance and movement and how various aspects of the fight are handled. You do of course have unique ways of kicking but you can see that as an extension of the former from a certain point of view.
I've seen some other people complain about this so it's probably a beaten horse but you don't really see anyone fight from a good distance or blitz in a way that works.
There's no psychotic Kyokushin charges or non-hardcore Karate fencing in and out of range or the art of changing levels with proper feints and countering, well aside from Neo.This is going bad quickly.

Cinderella's whole thing is that, on the inside, she was this beautiful person. But that beautiful person was physically locked away from the world. The only valid argument towards Batman is that, yeah, in 75 years and X many writers, a few good stories are bound to pop up.
The same thing applies to RWBY.
Hell, I've read RWBY fanfiction that was actually pretty fucking enthralling shit that trumped anything M&K have yet to put out.
RWBY has the potential to be fantastic, that's why people stick around. But this train needs new conductors if people want to start seeing it as well written.
