Remember, making a splash in any artistic field is as much about doing something different and transgressive, as it is about being immediately or obviously appealing. The point is to shake up the status quo. This does that.
There's a lot about this art that I immediately dislike, but there's a lot about it that works too.... especially considering the context of the kind of book its in.
I'm not a big fan of how she handles anatomy or expressions, but I like the overall page layouts and the way characters are placed in scenes. I don't know the comic word for it, but in film they call it blocking.
