I really can't stand the Hot Topic-type design they've been giving her. I feel Mr. Jay would take one look at that kind of outfit and just slap her.
If her character were younger, the gothy look would be fine, but she's a trained psychiatrist so it just doesn't fit.
I preferred the Assault on Arkham design

For years I haven't seen anything with either Harley or the Joker that hasn't felt like they've been put there because it's garners automatic interest from plebs. People aren't concerned about what they can do with the character but what the character can do with their ratings.

The Timmverse Batman animated series was good for what it was: a dated story with dated representations of its characters. But that doesn't mean the characters should stagnate just to appeal to your dated sensibilites.

If that was the only alternative then I wouldn't care either way.

But stagnation is exactly what they're doing with her. They've reduced her to her most easily accessible elements (ditzy, amoral, sex apeal) and have no other idea or intent for the character.

If people were saying older is better then they'd be claiming the Harley Quinn needs to be replaced with the Original Harlequin, or one of the many many many characters who use that name. Instead we're clamoring for the classic Harley Quinn of the 90's.
Old doesn't mean better, Harlequin is old. And newer doesn't mean better, Harley Quinn is newer then Harlequin, and Hot Topic Harley Quinn is the newest of all. Instead people are clamoring for the Classic Harley Quinn because the Classic version was better, not because of age.
