No. the cast is too big, the metaphor has long ago unrevealed. the universe seems to be rebooting every 2 seconds so there is no point to anything. some standalone stories are good, magneto had an ok comic(and death before rebirth) like with many other comics is all about "runs" and what team was working on it at the time. also what do you mean by " Are the X-Men" there are like 5 X men books, at least as many as bat family.

Sorry haven't really kept up with X-Men. Don't really know much about them outside of the Claremont run as I said.
My problem has always been X-Men always felt out of place in the Marvel Universe. Since no one really knows most heroes origins most people I guess assume they are all born with it. Would means everyone should hate every hero out there like they do with the X-Men.

in a way its like the jews,gays,trans gender people. no one will know your religion or your mental gender unless you proclaim it to the world.in same cases mutants want to be know as mutants, they insist they have a mutant culture. + not all mutants are heroes and most can't even be heroes since they have no powers and are just born ugly. some want to do jobs but they want to do jobs with their powers, like demolishing buildings but than construction crew complains that 1 guy is taking all their jobs. Xmen are an organization like the avengers or the brotherhood so the institution often comes under fire one of them or an ex member does something crazy(and there are a lot of ex member since they have a revolving door) hell magneto the Ex leader of the brotherhood of evil mutants has been in Xmen for years now (mascot front and center) Im not sure if X force is main continuity(I think it is) but having death squads does not help the Xmen brand, nor the fact prof X was a douche who enslaved robots. at the end of the day there are only so many times genosha can rise and fall before an average man says "kill em all and let god sort it out"

I get that. What I mean is that if we take the X-Men as is. Anyone that doesn't say what their origin to the world (and even than they can say it's just them lying) anyone with any sort of power of different looks is looked at as a mutant whether or not they actually are. Spider-Man to the world is a mutant Yet he has a giant number of fans. In the X-Men world hardly anyone would be on Spider-Man side because he is just a dirt mutant.
