I especialy hated this in the Vic the Viking episode silent night not quite the same as what you said because it was auctualy a good idea but it annoyed me the most because that series has been consistently good at portraying him as the relative genius he is made out to be but then he just ignores a great suggestion for no reason only to come up with it later without giving any credit.
It dident auctualy work but still.
