Bendis doesn't really know that much about the characters he writes.
If you were to follow a character and then Bendis starts writing them you'd think the guy doesn't have an editor. But the truth is that the editor is too busy correcting all the mistakes that some slip by.
I could write a lot about why Bendis is bad, but I'll give you the short of it: He's a mediocre writer and failed screenwriter that's coasting off of his past success. However, he pays he dues and is exclusive to Marvel so he gets special privileges like getting input on events and getting the best artists. His coworkers find him hard to work with and the people that study under him in his college course on comic books think he has a big ego, dude probably thinks he's going to be the next Stan Lee. We joke that he gets away with as much shit as he does because he knows where the bodies are buried, but he probably does have "something" on Brevoort.

Bendis has a very obvious bias towards characters. They are either awesome or lame.
Characters he loves are always the "Tough and punching" characters, like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, Daredevil, etc.
Characters who are lame are Hawkeye, Ant-Man, She-Hulk (Cause she's a lamer hulk whom Bendis isn't a fan of), Venom and Hulk (Cause he hates dumb beastly characters), and so on.

In Binary form she was effectively a Cosmic-tier being.
She doesn't shift into Binary too much anymore but it seems the writers have been slowly power-creeping her upwards as if she is channeling the Binary power all the time even in her regular Ms Marvel form.
Also, it wasn't merely it punch, it was obviously shown as an energy-projection-augmented punch.
Under the old, old OHBOTMU format she is probably class 50, maybe able to shortly up her strength by channeling her energy blasts internally. Her energy manipulation is way up there though, I'm thinking she can blast with the force of a Class 100+ punch easily. Combine them and I'm comfortable with saying an energy punch of Captain Marvel isn't far removed from taking a faceful of Mjölnir. An energy punch ramped way up from anger and anguish, even moreso.
Marvel really likes sacrificing its black characters for a company so progressive.

The leak mentioned War Machine and She-Hulk dying off screen in #1, and the circumstances of their death matches what happened in #0 (Thanos, Carol last minute team, Cosmic Cube).
It seems to be a very early leak though, so there's a chance that they could tweak something like She-Hulk's death if it's really a minor element of the story.
