Is there a problem with that
I always felt a dark-elemental thing should be gravity oriented. Whether that means crushing things, pulling them apart, suspending and arresting momentum. Darkness stuff.
And that light should be time. Like, healing can be time-reversal. And undead abhor a natural flow of time, which light returns to them. Time stuff for light elemental stuff, weeee.
And teleportation/haste is like the two things meeting halfway.
Bomberman 64 2 knows what I'm talkin' about. And so does One Piece.

>Fire powers
>just creates flashy blasts and people get minor wounds instead of horrible burns and blisters
This happen every time with powers. Someone can freeze someone? They just get frozen in place and feel a bit cold. Lighting: just gets a bit fried but no visible damage and is still alive despite tanking many bolts

The most useful weapon in fiction is the bola. It works nearly 100% of the time.
And the most useful power to have would be the ability to conjure bolas from nothing, which makes Spider-Man one of the most useful superheroes in fiction.
