When hotel oblivion ?
>>
Way is literally the young Prodigy of Morrison that was supposed to be Millar before he started writing movie pitches.
>>81851965
Hotel Oblivion is new volume of Umbrella Academy that has been announced for years.

I liked his other comics, and seeing as how he's basically Morrisons fucking pupil, Doom Patrol seems a good fit for him.
Also, I'm not one to criticize looks, but the poor bastard looks like he hasn't slept in fucking weeks.

>always been a comic book fan
>even studied art in college
>literally morrisons protege
>marvel gave him a chance to write a spiderman one shot
>became popular cause its gerard way
>asked him to work for them
>turned them down cause he's always been a dc
>marvel is still stuck with the likes of bendis and liefeld
Marvel comics have always been bad the reasons their """"sales"""" is higher than DC is because the movies introduced normies into reading and will eat whatever shit they spew from their arse cause lol muh marvel im such a nurd

How hard will Flex Mentallo flex in this
>>
I like Gerard as much as the next guy that has read Umbrella Academy, but 3 out of the 4 books in the Imprint are being writen by him. If he fails to connect to audiences, that's it for the Imprint.
Seriously, DC needs to stop putting all their eggs in a single basket.
>>

Wut nigga? He's writing one and co-writing one.
>>
Good timing, I was just about to start on Morrison's Doom Patrol.

Can I just start when Morrison starts or are the previous 18 issues needed for context?

This September, in the spirit of Grant Morrison's legendary run on the series, along with other classic incarnations of the characters, writer Gerard Way and artist Nick Derington will put their unique stamp on the world's strangest heroes taking on the universe's strangest villains.

>Meet Violet Paige, a celebrity heiress by day and brutal vigilante by night as she takes on the underbelly of Gotham City’s high society. Hitting shelves in November, the series is written by Gerard Way and Jody Houser with art by Tommy Lee Edwards.

>Cecil Castellucci
Really not a fan of hers, she mostly does dull YA novels and her comic credits aren't that good either.
>>
>>81853526
that's disappointing, i was looking forward to this.
>>
>>81853526
I'm more concerned that people here will bitch about Jody Houser. She's the writer of Faith from Valiant.
>>
>>81853769
You really think the people bitching about that comic even care who the writer is?

Out of all the books, this is the one I'm most interested in. I really enjoyed Shade back in the day and seeing a new version that is stuck in a bully sounds like it could be hilarious.
>>
>>81854122
Yeah I didn't pick up on that before. My bad.
>>
>>81853391
Yeah, you can skip the short Kupperberg run, it's bad, that's something virtually everyone agrees on regardless on which take on the team they prefer. Same goes for the Byrne run.

Read Pollack's run and the original when you're done with Morrison, though. Arcudi's and Giffen's are ok too, nothing special, frankly, but they're quite good for the most part.

Who's Cave Johnson and why does he have a cybernetic eye
>>
>>81855054
Z-Lister. He was part of the Forgotten Heroes with Animal Man and Dolphin before they actually got exposure if that means anything to you.
>>
>>81855170
All I know that it was some kinnda Crisis on Infinite Earth tie-in which was alluded in Morrison's Animal Man run early on

Rad. Wonder how she's balancing projects since I thought she was working on something with Brandon Graham as well unless that project is a small one for like Island or something.

This is basically Batwoman
>>
>>81851956
The guy has worked with Morrison before, right? I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. Hopefully he will try to be mostly original and keep the influences to some slight references.

>>81853109
Hard enough for your sleeves to fall off.
>>
>>81860825
Maybe Mother Panic will be a good character then.
>>

>Hopefully he will try to be mostly original and keep the influences to some slight references.
He's said he's doing a lot of his own stuff, but he's also said he also wants to acknowledge all of the older runs and use something from all of them, putting it in a "blender." Flex Mentallo is even right there.
>>
>>81861691
>wants to acknowledge all of the older runs and use something from all of them, putting it in a "blender."
That was basically the Griffen run, which was a bit hit-and-miss to me with how it handled the references. So that's why I hope he goes a more original route than that.
>>
>>81853468
Robin counterpart when?

Should it be a boy or a girl?

zoo crew ongoing when
I like this though, now the obscure stuff stand a chance of getting a book

He's right though. Marvel is the plebian's choice, which is why the masses favor it. It's light fluffy and easy to swallow because Marvel caters to idiots.
