A lot of peopleespecially on /ic/will tell you the best place to start is with Loomis, but I feel like he really doesn't go into the psychology of drawing from sight, which is fine if you already understand it, but you can still get lost pretty quick if you don't already have a slight handle on it. Andrew Loomis really is the best book for learning, but it's not quite the best start. Drawing From the Right Side of the Brain will always be my go to suggestion for new artists.
