Zootopia thread. Keep doing it for her boys.
Is there and HD rip yet?
Okay, hear me out
In Zootopia, the larger animals are at a heavy disadvantage.
>Rodents can eat for days on what an elephant has for lunch
>So obviously they have better price/performance ratio by being small
>"Well we charge rodents more and big animals less!"
But that would be prejudice, that would be SYSTEMIC prejudice, and that would be bad!
>Rodents can breed quicker than any other species
>Take less fabric for their clothing items
>Their expenses are without a doubt less
>Can probably rig elections by just breeding more voters
How do we solve?
>Offer a tax credit to large mammals to offset their costs for evrything!
Wrong, that's also fucked. Imagine giving black people a break on taxes for simply being black
>Pay by the ounce style?
Large animals still have greater caloric needs. They still will be charged more.
How do we fix the inherit inequality in this city? Fuck the pred/prey rhetoric, it's all about size baby, and bigger you are the harder you fall
Best fox.
Also we probably need a topic to discuss to not get this thread. What do we talk about?
Well, like I was saying on a thread with an actual subject that got deleted after one minute, can we still protect Nick's smile or is it too late? Did he suffer too much? Is he on "punished fox" mode forever?

Do what?
>>81747551
We talk about best fox.
>>81747505
there's hundreds of physical labor jobs that small animals are simply unable to do at all. so there's an entire industry that is completely taken up by large animals. we don't know really much about how pay grades work in this world, and if labor workers make way less like they do in real life. so it's hard to say if they are generally lower class.
who actually thought the movie was going to be this good?
>>81747551
Japan? Sequel? How much we want to make love to the fox?

Let me summarize
Judy tries to trick Nick by saying she's engaged. I'm guessing she's hoping he'll break down and confess to her or something. He turns it around by saying that if she leaves, he'll quit. She can't bear to see him abandon this. She tells him it's a joke but he's still going to quit. She breaks down instead and cries for him to stay
So he turns around and threatens to tell her parents about this ploy, maybe they'll think she's actually looking for a rabbit husband. He's trying to get her to admit why she would try and pull a stunt like this. In the end, he does admit he'd be lonely if she left, and that makes her smile.
>>81748355
not again...fine do your worst
You think she tries to act feral sometimes with Nick by nibbli g his ears and neck until he takes control and pins her to the ground, staring deep into her eyes?

So then is work stratified by size? Like, if labor pays more, we obviously must leave the labor jobs to the rhinos, elephants, bears.

Why is this something that must be fixed? Sure, different species have different outcomes. That's life. No one has stolen from the elephants or hippos. Besides, economically they probably collect around each other, big animals set up big shops for each other, the smaller animals go to little Rodentia.
You want something to fix though, the electoral system must be fucked. Mice out number elephants 1000 to 1.

I mean, I think somewhere along the line, the whole idea got twisted.
As writers, we strive to write good characters that are relateable. Characters with flaws, but who also have the possibility for change and redemption. Writing a character with those traits (or just writing a good character) who happens to be female and thus appeals to females does not make her a feminist character.
I'm saying she's a good character. She has a challenge, she fails, she reveals some flaws, but she learns to overcome her flaws and is a better person in the end. It's screenwriting 101. ALL characters ought to strive for this ideal, being well written is not exclusive to a sociopolitical movement.
Sexual interests aside, what character did you relate to the most in the movie?

It's the same reason people criticize Rey as a character. Usually (and hopefully) not on the basis that she's a part of the feminist agenda or something, but that she's just a badly written character.
The same applies for Judy.
The same applies for Nick even. A well written male character is not a part of the MRA movement either.

>>81749334
I just don't think she's "feminist". Unless of course the male character letting his guards down, being vulnerable and acting human is also a plug for the MRA group. Because with that kind of rhetoric, you could absolutely spin it that way.
Or, you know, they're actually just decently written characters who fulfill their arcs and learn a thing or too in tandem with Zootopia's pervasive theme
>>81749324
Maybe it's the article worrying about fears regarding American propaganda, but I'm worried that Zootopia will go over like Pacific Rim - expected to over-perform and slightly under-performing instead. That being said, Zootopia doesn't look like it's pandering as much as Pacific Rim did, so I don't think it'd be wrong to have high expectations.
