I'm guessing Ronan isn't supposed to be a 2D villain like the GotG movie made him out to be. So what did they cut out/screw up?
Dunno you should try reading comics

In the comics he was originally a Fantastic Four and Avengers villain, as the stock enforcer of Kree "justice", but he had a revival of interest in the Annihilation events, where an extradimensional invasion forced unlikely allies together and he wound up fighting alongside the future Guardians, with more emphasis on his personality and desire for Justice with a capital J.

But Anon... Where would I even start?!
Also, thread music I guess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjYK5k40iHQ

didn't he show up for a bit in Infinity? i remember him being awesome in that.
Alien Judge Dredd
>>81740091
GOTG was classic Kirby Ronan to a T.
>>81740091
he Judge Dredd but Thor level power wise pretty much.

Pick up a comic. Start reading.
Probably one of the worst MCU characterizations.
Real Ronan is basically Captain Kreemerica. He has a moralistic position informed by the ideals of Kree culture and government that he maintains even if it brings him into conflict with his fellow Kree, his superiors, or other species.
As a result he is an often antagonistic, sometimes ally, always sticking to his code.
Meanwhile MCU turns him into a Kree space Jihadist.
he is devoted to the kree and his actions are usually to benefit his race in some manner or another which frequently puts him at odds with heroes (who are generally earth-centric or at least favor it) but he will ally, too

Ronan was easily one of the best cape movie villains, and my favorite part of the movie.
Fuck the /tv/ hipsters who would shit on my opinion. They have no idea what the genre consists of.
>>81740302
Good thing the Ronan in the movie was based on Silver Age Ronan, otherwise you'd be right.
>>81740361
You realize most of the hate for ronan comes from /co/ people who don't like how he isn't the more nuanced character they made him in later stories?
>>81740414
Too bad they killed him off before he could become more than a conveniently relevant caricature.
>>81740418
>You realize most of the hate for ronan comes from /co/ people who don't like how he isn't the more nuanced character they made him in later stories?
It hit the sweet spot during annhilation/conquest
The they made him into a pussy, bowing to Inhuman filth and "falling in love" with Crystal

Are you trying to start a new meme?
>>81740091
He was a big guy in the comics. 7'5'' and pretty wide.
And the whole smearing black Novan blood across his face and armor was all from the movie.
>>81740465
>implying he won't be back
If you don't think he's coming back eventually then you don't know shit about capeshit.
>>81740566
Yes. A meme based on the truth.
>>81741125
the truth is a meme

>>81741197
What's your point here?
>>81741241
no point just shit posting relativity POV and made up for it with a nice link with classic panels for /co/mardes to read
>>81741102
>If you don't think he's coming back eventually then you don't know shit about capeshit.
Watch him come back and steal Thanos's Death infatuation while Thanos is made into a two-dimensional pushover.
>>81741530
they'll go ultimate and make him thanos's son
>>81741125
>>81741530
They established that with Thanos' first appearance though.
>to challenge them is to court death
>Thanos turns with a big "muh dick" smile
Just did not like making him some random warlord and not the leader of the Kree.
>>81744982
>Just did not like making him some random warlord and not the leader of the Kree.
But he wasn't supposed to be the leader of the kree. He's the guy who upholds kree law and seeks out justice for those who wrong em.
>>81745089
He has been the leader since at least the 80's
>>81745179
So they should have had him take up the role he had decades into his comic continuity that wasn't what the character was initially created to be?
>>81745331
Was he ever a marauding pirate not aligned with the Kree government at all?
>>81745331
>So they should have had him take up the role he had decades into his comic continuity
He spent decades as a low level lackey of Thanos along side Gamora and Nebula?
>>81745331
>Hi I only read a wikipedia article about this character fifteen minutes ago. Ask me anything.
>>81745648
It's a good thing the movies don't have to follow the exact continuity of the comics. That whole Multiverse thing, y'know.
>>81745331
>>81746437
>Makes a statement about how he is perfectly fitting continuity trying to make fun of another post
>Backpeddles hard when proven wrong and says other universe can be different
