You ever feel bad for flanders?
He's Genuinely a nice guy and yet homer hates his ass just cause he finds him to be a mr. perfect.
for christ sake he lost his wife.
>>
He lost TWO SOs. Granted the second was real life writes the plot. Which makes it all more depressing. And on the show just cruel. How can he still have faith after all that?
>>
>>81726324
His dick reaches his knee.
>>
Pre flanderization, no, he seemed to not care what Homer thought about him and he had a pretty good life, so kind of hard to feel bad for him. Post flanderization, also no, but now it's because he's obnoxious as fuck due to having his character whittled down to one defining trait.
>>
>believe in god
>reality mercilessly shits on you

Typical libtard-wrriten script
>>
>>81726285
In any Simpsons episode that matter you can't really feel bad for the guy. Simply because he rarely ever feels bad himself. He keeps a positive outlook on everything and pushes through, always seeing the best in others.

So, he would be an extremely obnoxious person in real life.

I work in customer support, I can understand why God would hate churchgoing people.
>>
They should give him a qt boyfriend.

>Ned Flanders
>Gay in the slightest
Pick one
>>
>>81726285
That's the joke. Same with Milhouse, there's no reason for him to sufffer so much except for comedy's sake.
>>
>>81729018
>Same with Milhouse
You could have said Moleman, but ok.

Homer will always be an ass to Flanders.
I think Homer once admitted that he has it better than the rest. Considering that I believe Ned is rich actually.
>>
>>81729226
Milhouse gets shit on way more consistently, his life is basically nothing but suffering. Even when he catches a break it's only so that he can fall from higher.

>>81729348
>I believe Ned is rich actually.
That's been inconsistent even by Simpsons standards.
>>
>>81730000
actually... what the hell is Flanders job anyway?
>>
>>81726421
So the the book of Job clearly written by militant atheists?

>Worhipping God means bad things won't happen to you

Yeah, nah, you're looking for one of those 'Prosperity Gospel' types. You get the strength to endure, and a place in the Kingdom if you do. Life went downright shitty for several of God's VIP's.
>>
>>81729018
the problem is that its not funny anymore.
>>
>>81729226
Moleman realized he didn't need glasses anymore last episode actually
>>
>>81727523
Customer support isn't that bad. It's just a matter of doing stupid shit while talking so you have a way to vent.

Now telemarketing, that shit would make me flood the fucking earth.

And I have experience in both. Once I did both CS and Telemarketing in one. It was like having to take up residence in Satan's anus.
>>
>Ned Flanders in the Simpsons Tapped Out is built like a brick church
>All the church-going women want him
>He still sticks to being a man of God and staying true to his wife
Ned's pretty fucking based.
>>
>>81731181
Well that's just shit writing of the jokes themselves, not the premise.
Bad shit happening to good people is comedy 101.
>>
>>81731607
Yeah, but bad shit happening to worse people is comedy 1001+. Blackadder, Bottom, Married with Children, The Young Ones, Filthy Rich and Catflap, The Dangerous Brothers, it's all gold.

What's so wrong with telemarketing? I'm being considered as a possible telemarketer right now, and you now have me concerned.
>>
Are we forgetting that Flanders is literally mentally unstable? Like, he had to be put in a padded cell at one point and as a child he required behavioural therapy because his idiot parents were raising a monster.
>>
>>81731706
No his parents literally said"We've tried nothing and nothing has worked!"
His parents were hippies who didn't believe in discipline. He resents his parents now because they aren't christians and smoke weed every chance they get, which I 1/2 don't blame him for that
>>
>>81731706
What episodes?

so you're getting into that line of work without researching the downsides first?

I wouldnt worry about it, you're going to simply love it
>>
>>81731741

Raising a monster doesn't require you to do anything, hence why they were raising a monster.

>>81731750

I think it was all in the same episode actually, where a tornado tears through Springfield and the Flanders house is the only one that gets destroyed, then the town rebuilds it (badly) and he snaps, then they give his backstory.

Though I admit I may be misremembering.

I work as an over night clerk/cook at a gas station next to a crowded lot of low-income housing and across the street is a bar/casino, where there's usually only 2 people on staff. Being asked to interview for a 9-5 job where I'm just on the phone for 1.5 times the pay sounds way better. I was just asking about what made your experience bad.
>>
>>81731860
Not completely. They didn't tell him no a little harder. I remember they would ask him nicely and never once actually tried to stop him. No spanking, no grabbing, no old skoll things at all. Someone should find a clip
>>
>>81731027
You forgot the healthy dose of Christian guilt.

Also for the record, Homer has said a number of times, that Flanders is his best friend.
He loves him.

That heart pic guy wasn't me, fyi. My bad experience has been in cold-calling people and trying to sell them shit they don't need at prices they can't afford. I was selling them phone plans, channel packages, sattelite dishes, all that godawful crap.

At first you need to convince yourself that the cheap garbage you're selling is good and needed, and secondly you need to manipulate people, put on that bullshit PR smile ('cause you can tell when someone's smiling because their words take on a certain change). And if all else fails, you need to try and swindle old folks. That's where I couldn't take it any longer. I'll do a lot of shit for money, but calling up old people on their birthdays and lying to them that I'm calling because of a special birthday deal we made just for them is where I draw the line.

I might be a self-loathing, nihilistic, emotionally stunted asshole, but even I have my limits. Besides, the way I worked, it was all "motivational pay", as in "sell enough and you get the full paycheck we'd give you if we weren't scumbags".

I can't describe well enough how much I hate telemarketing.

Oh boy, am I thankful that's not what I'm doing shouldn't be that bad. That sounds despicable. The company I may be working with isn't selling products, just business services to other business owners. I don't know how I could live with myself, trying to swindle people for a living. The base pay to this job is $12/hr, and a minimum $15 bonus for each sale you make, and I've been told that's anywhere from 0 - 4, out of 200+ calls.
>>
>>81732139
I don't know if that'll be any better. I got called for an interview by this company (amusingly enough, they cold-called me, since I didn't apply for shit with them), and told me I'd be an "account manager". What they didn't say was that I'd be selling the company's services to business owners. The company was a collection of brokers and other assorted weasels.

As you can imagine, as soon as they mentioned that telemarketing was a big part of the job, I left. Although now I regret not telling the smug cunt at the other end of the table to shove the company where he kisses his boss.

But if you're in America, I imagine shit must be different for you there.

What about post-post flanderization? A common thing about post Season 19 was the people slowly going back to original characterizations.

He's back at being characterized as a generally nice guy, with the religious thing not being the only part of his personality.

Last season even had an episode that was just about Homer admitting he bullies Flander's too much and it being about being jealous of his life.

Plus losing two wives has indeed made him more sympathetic

Since the first episode, Flanders has been shown to have more money than Homer. He even owns some rare Beatles memorabilia. When Flanders Failed is the only time when Ned struggled with money.
>>
Who lives on the opposite side of The Simpson's property? We know Ned has the other house but I don't think that's ever been explored until the hipster episode.

>Muslims eventually move into Springfield and take up the house
>Muslim and Ned get into hilarious shenanigans but eventually come to realize they aren't so bad
>Homer basically becomes Muslim for one episode

>>
>>81734931
We've had a muslim episode already. It was Bart who made the Muslim friend, and Homer was an ass.

As for the house, it keeps changing hands. Old Lady Winfield used to live there before Ruth moves in with her daughter, Laura. Not sure which hipster episode you're talking about, though; last time I checked in, Sideshow Bob moved into the house before being replaced by a relative of Flanders.
>>
Homer and Ned's mothers are both named Mona, so if you ignore the nonsense of Ned being 70 years old you can imagine that they're actually half brothers, with Ned being Mona's son from after she left Abe.

Not really, except when Maude died. Flanders was too optimistic to feel sorry for. I always felt worse for Kirk Van Houten

Havent seen many episodes past season 11

It's Viva Ned Flanders, and he's actually 60, not 70.
