The comic in question was created because of so many people saying they'd "fuck that horse", the horse in question being a unicorn from a comic series that was often times posted in LOL threads. Eventually, that face was posted in response to things that wouldn't normally be sexualized, but the poster would still pursue sexual relations with. But now it is used in any scenario in which the poster finds something attractive due to its wide usage and people no longer understanding what it means. DaveJade is the only good relationship in all of Homestuck, and here's why:
Both characters built on each other in a constructive way. Dave's primary issue is that he has to be the coolkid. In most conversations, he's perpetually defensive, trying to prove that he's really that cool. It's only with Jade (and Terezi, I suppose) that he's willing to drop the facade even a little. Yet nobody except Jade (and maybe Terezi, though it's hard to say what level of irony she was operating on) actually believes for a second that he is cool. The fact that Jade accepts it is what allows him to let his guard down while talking to her. She enables him to move out of his shell and become his own person.
On the other hand, Jade has enormous potential, but no one but Dave recognizes it. Rose mostly ignores her, except for when she wants a prediction, and John regards her as his silly friend but not a whole lot beyond that. Only Dave sees that, with some help, she could become something far greater than she is, and he dedicates a lot of time to helping her achieve that. Look at the client/server relationships: Rose is pretty hands-on with John, but is more concerned with figuring out the game mechanics than helping John out. Dave pretty much leaves Rose alone after she enters, since he knows she'd find being treated like she can't handle herself patronizing. John doesn't really get a chance to do anything with Jade beyond placing the initial entry equipment. But Dave spends a lot of time trying to help Jade figure things out and get situated.
Basically, Dave and Jade compliment and complete each other. No one else in Homestuck has that kind of relationship.

That model was more NDS style than a 5th gen console. There are big differences in how polycount and texture rendering were handled back then, especially for Saturn and PSX but also N64.
N64 models typically had to have lower polycounts than PSX, but almost universally made use of its 3-point filtering to smooth out textures on them (partly due to texture space being tiny), which PSX couldn't do. NDS character models which as an omnipresent design trend had a lot more focus on conserving their detail, taking hits to draw distance, environment detail and enemy pop-in just to maintain it, and the MASSIVE difference in the size of textures the system allowed adding a ton more detail when zoomed in on the models. It's especially apparent if you debug or use emulation at higher resolutions than the original console - a majority of character models have textures so good that native res literally couldn't display all their detail at any point of zoom that the game used. They look like Aranea here when you go hi-res.
The trade? Blurry filtering of textures basically didn't exist, unlike N64. If you had an image painted on a model that was it, no bilinear or even 3-point filter was allowed, leading to fairly crisp but aliased textures if they had to be stretched over a big area. The exception is textureless gourad-shaded objects (just like PSX got to avoid its insane texture problems), like her legs here.
Going back to style, it was *massively* more common for NDS devs to show the consideration to bake-in shadows on models, like Aranea has here, because there usually wasn't enough graphics processing to make attempts at dynamic lighting. This was something PSX and N64 games for the most part never bothered to do, as a combination of inexperience (PSX and N64) and the semi-availability of effects that could approximate the real thing (N64).
You'd never see a model like this in any 5th-gen console, but a DS game would have them in spades.
