>mfw when I like BvS and Avengers pretty much equally for vastly different reasons
>>
>>81676299
I liked BvS way better than Avengers. I had to see it three times due to friends and family scheduling and each time was good. I watched Avengers twice in theaters and once at home and it's just not that good. But that's just my opinion.
>>
>>81676889

Shut up Jason Mamoa
>>
>>81676889

Avengers lost a lot of its charm on repeat viewings, in my opinion.

I saw BvS twice in theaters and noticed a lot of shit I didn't catch the first time around that made for a pretty interesting rewatch experience.

BvS has a lot of problems, but I feel that there's more to chew on and analyze than there was with Avengers, which is pretty bog-standard boilerplate cape action.
>>
Loki was better than piss jar Luthor

Cap is better than Man of Feel

I'm pretty sure the only good part about BvS was actually Lawrence Fishburne, for his 5-10 minutes of screen time
>>
Live action threads are cancer

fuck off back to /tv/ nobody gives a shit about your movie competitions.

I legitimately forgot that he was in the film.

I prefer Avengers, but I truly found a ton to like in Batman V Superman. And I hated Man of Steel, so I was pleasantly surprised by Batman V Superman.

>YFW you miss when cape films were about making a thematically-complete film with interesting character arcs instead of just being sequel bait and introducing dumb shit that will only pay off six movies from now
>>
>>81676299
Say what you want about Snyder, it still doesn't change the fact that the action in his movies are significantly better than the action in Whedon's movies.
>>
>Marvel movies are well executed, but shallow
>DC is poorly executed, but (slightly more) ambitious and lofty
I'd rather have an awesome hamburger than terrible beef tartare. BvS has some of the best, as well as the worst, moments I've ever seen in a capefilm
>>
>>81686856
For me, it's

>MCU movies are shallow popcorn films, but at least they have coherent arcs I guess
>Snyder movies also shallow popcorn films, but are also thematically muddled and don't follow internal logic whilst pretending to be 2deep4md

I'm not a fan of either, so I stay out of company wars bullshit (although criticizing a film on either "side" will make the brand's acolytes label you as a soldier for the other "side").
>>
Avengers is a flick you watch once, get all hyped up, but then six months go by and you find yourself thinking "man, there really wasn't much of anything into the movie, I probably never need to see it again" where as BvS is something you will find yourself enjoying more and more with each time you see it, tbqh family.
>>
>>81684940

And the pay off is completely empty experience in the end.

This. If you've only seen it once then you're doing yourself a disservice. I'm on my 5th watch and I've gotta say, it really does get better each time. Once you hit number 3, you really get some of the nuance more which adds to the experience. It really is capekino in that regard.

Going to see BvS with your friends is a great way to start the weekend or unwind after a long day of work. I highly recommend repeat viewing. Frankly, I don't trust the opinions of anyone that didn't see it at least 4 times, at least one of which being IMAX. Indeed, this will be the one cape movie that stands the test of time enough for constant discussion. I wouldn't be surprised if we were still talking about it 5 years from now.

>mfw I no longer know when people are memeing on BvS or genuinely believe this and wtch the film multiple times

It's kind of amazing that now, finally, the walls of self-deception can crumble and people on this board can come to grips with the fact that BASED SNYDER fucked up Watchmen, too.

It's struck me as very odd that both IM2 and BvS have the exact same problems but IM2 is rated so highly.

I also think it's pretty weird that Incredible Hulk is considered to be one of the worst Marvel films.
>>
>>81690335
People were saying that after the Watchmen movie came out.

if IM2 came out today, i guarantee its RT% would not start with anything more than a 6

Not enough quips, obviously. It's too serious and "boring"

Everyone loved the first Iron Man and wanted to love the sequel.

Pretty much every retrospective or look back on the MCU I've seen agrees that IM2 is a turd.
