If Superman gets poisoned by Kryptonite, fatally so, why does he always find a way to channel his inner John Cena and just power through it?
>>
>>81598499
>why does he always find a way
Because he's Superman.
>>
>>81598499
>why does he always find a way to channel his inner John Cena and just power through it?
I feel like you answered your own question.
>>
>>81598577
No, because "Channeling his inner John Cena" and "powering through it" are the same thing. You can't power through rattlesnake venom.
>>
>>81598620
>You can't power through rattlesnake venom.
You can't, but Superman could.
>>
>>81598992
So his "greatest weakness", is a minor hindrance at best then. Might as well make EVERY hero completely impervious to pain

What if OP fucked Superman in the ass with a krytonite dick? Would Superman die?
>>
>>81599022
You mean like every superhero that has been around for more than a year?
>>
>>81599075
name one superhero that is completely incapable of having pain, be it physical AND mental
>>
>>81599052

It would be extremely painful
>>
great, now I'm imagining Superman taking a kryptonite soaking and fighting back doing an Ultimate Warrior headbanging as he gets up and shaking high tension wire like ring ropes
>>
>>81599099
No.

You see kryptonite hurts him.

It's just never killed him and made him stay dead.

Like every hero ever.

Complaining about superheroes encountering obstacles, and then overcoming them, is fucking retarded.

That's what heroes do.

Next time why not make a thread about how Spider-Man can't lift an object because it's too heavy, but then he does.

Or better yet, fucking don't.
>>
>>81598499
Depends on the story. Sometimes he can't.
>>
>>81599022
>greatest weakness
It arguably isn't. Magic has fucked him over and is harder to deal with.
>>
>>81598499
Superman can regenerate. If you take away the kryptonite, he comes back.

Nobody has poisoned John Cena. Also, Wrestling is real while comic books are fake

John Cena is Superman.

People always underestimate superman's intelligence. They assume he just punches, but he's actually a genius.

Blubberball from Avengers Initiative is completely immune to any forms of external physical stimuli.

Meaning he would sleep through a Nuke going off next to him and it'd only singe his clothes, but he also can't get a hard-on no matter what.

What? why are you talking about a Primal Force character?
>>
>>81598499
because he is a pussy

kryptonite isnt that powerful vs him, it would be like a normal person exposed to a flame

but superman is such a weakling because he has never been exposed to something that might 'hurt' him and he has no pain resistance
>>
>>81598499
>Kryptonite
there are like 6 colors of Kryptonite, the green one is the most boring, one can even turn superman into a bug or some shit like that.
>>
>>81599860
Electricity can hurt him.
Supergirl hit him and he said it actually hurt, hell a lot of people have hit him hard enough to hurt him.
>>
>>81599022

Name me one fucking mainstream superhero that hasn't just "powered through" their greatest weakness or came back after dying. (Death being their greatest weakness).

Please, shut the fuck up. The Superman hate threads are getting really old.

Wonder Woman was never able to fight through pregnancy.
>>

>hell a lot of people have hit him hard enough to hurt him.
"hurt" to him means being poked with a pin to a normal person

Kryptonite is just more intense than a pin
>>
>>81599099
From a storytelling perspective, he's no more invulnerable than Batman, or any other hero.
>>
>>81598499

Nowhere was that ever said. You can attempt to power through and not succeed.
>>
>>81599985
Well there was Superman: Grounded.
>>
>>81599969
Kryptonite's effect depends on the writer. Sometimes it severely weakens him without hurting him. I think it would hurt him more than a pin however.

You mean a fictional character who appears in a comic book?

Have you ever seen Diana and Jess in the same room togeather? I haven't.
>>
>>81599099
Punisher. He basically lost his entire rib through a point-blank shotgun once. He made a note of it in narration and then kept fighting like nothing happened.

Batman had taken bone-breaking and numerous severe injuries without his actual physical performance being hampered one bit as well.

Can someone remind me which story Batman gets asked about his "Plan to take down Superman if he goes rogue" and is asked if it's Kryptonite, then Batman answers "Are you crazy? How many times has he powered through Kryptonite and come out with the win? How many times has Kryptonite ACTUALLY STOPPED him? My plan for stopping rogue Superman is living comfortably with the knowledge that he'll never go rogue, because if he does, there's not a damn thing I can do to stop him." Or something to that effect.
>>
>>81599022
>completely impervious to pain

See, here's the thing; Superman is literally dying when he's exposed to Kryptonite. He's *in* pain, extreme pain, but he forces himself to continue through sheer willpower, just like normal people can; you hear stories (or used to,anyway) about a soldier, who, riddled with bullets, carries his wounded buddy miles from behind enemy lines to safety and medical help, or a fireman who ignores the burning agony to rescue someone from a burning building, before collapsing.

At least there is a sense of danger and struggle. With Superman stories it's like "Why bother" because you know he just wins some bullshit way.
