Action Comics by Morrison is a good run. I liked bits and pieces of Busiak's stuff but personally can't think of any one 'run' that I would say is his best. There are, for example, things I liked in The Black Ring, but would view them as more Luthor centric stories but it has the same failing that so much shit has (e.g. Joker in Nolanverse, villain in Skyfall, Reverse Flash in CW Flash, etc.) of having the bag guy just be fourteen steps ahead of everyone because he had this one overarching plan no one could figure out (but the writers).

Bronze Age is perfection, look for the works of Carey Bates, Elliott S Maggin, Dennis O'Neil. Post Crisis Joe Kelly, Geoff Johns, Kurt Busiek have solid stuff. Rucka's Adventures of Superman stuff is good too. All these post crisis stuff I mentioned is really well done with few hiccups and missteps, best you can get in post Crisis I think. Then there's Morrison's stuff.
