Not really. Lapis can deadlift the ocean as well as all ocean life with a cracked gem, and fight the CG to a total standstill if not beat them while still deadlifting the ocean. pillow gem can make a sandstorm and a castle and is certainly powerful, but Loses to the CG, so there's a very definate power gap.

The castle was shown to be brittle, and many of the sand constructs would crumble under their own weight. I'm pretty sure that it's a corrupted gem form and not a prison like the mirror, but the twitter post burnett made about it is gone now so who the hell knows.

Garnet was bad because it was a low guard taking a princesses fusion virginity in public while she just blatantly fails her only purpose, i.e. predicting the correct future.
Clusters are bioweapons, and don't tell you anything about the cultural perception of fusion.
Jasper is an individualistic warrior who dislikes fusion because it diminishes her battle glory, which she'd have to share.
And Peridot is a prude, naive and rather sheltered scientist.

Soft colors for the backgrounds which are pretty to just look at

It's pretty good, and the general consensus is to watch the first 12 episodes to see if you like it. Since they're all 11 minutes you could plow through those 12 in an afternoon (~2.5 hours).

Just give it a watch. It's not like there much else to watch in the way of recent story driven cartoons. The first 12 episodes are kinda weird and you can tell the show is trying to get its bearings. The show changes a lot after that. The art style gets smoothed out and Steven's voice gets less annoying.

It's just pretty visually, and even then it starts to grate on after a while so the appeal wears off fast.

They managed to bluntly force drama and androgynous undertones in the show to showcase how edgy they can be. There are good moments of drama regarding early episodes. but it starts getting really weird. A whole episode is dedicated to two tween characters stuck in an island with Steven, they hate themselves so much they almost fuck.
The action is hit or miss.
My recomendation, watch the first 20 episodes. If by that point you aren't sold on it, stop watching, the show has poor pacing due to the 11 minute time constraint.

Have the gems finally explain Corruption to Peridot and then she tries to cure it with modern Homeworld tech and get slightly further along in curing it before it falls apart: a glimpse at her true form or hell even just a voice.

Not necessarily. We've clearly seen that the same gems can have different personalities like with Ruby. Our Ruby was clearly a bit more thoughtful and considerate than the other two.
And Pearl clearly was taught to be different and unique.
The same could have happened to Rose. She was a warrior that was taught to be kind and loving.And her teacher was Pink Diamond

It may, in fact, BE a big multi-fusion of all the CGs (alexandrite + Rose).
It has a fuckhuge sword that is submerged in the ocean. We actually see it in pic related and in bubble buddies when Steven and Connie walk past it.
I doubt anyone, man or gem, carved that sword out of anything. That's part of why I think the Temple is actually some kind of remnant of them using that huge fusion to protect Beach City from something devastating. The shape of the penninsula looks like something blasted the area and was blocked by the Temple.

Every detail we learn about Pearls makes their existence more tragic. Even our "Terrifying Renegade" Pearl, probably the most wildly divergent, out there Pearl in the universe, still has all the instincts of a house slave. Obviously the audio quality is bad because it seems to be recorded with some potato device, but yeah the dub isn't great. Pearl probably has the best voice and Steven ain't so bad either. Garnet and Connie share the same VA which is very confusing and she fits Connie better than Garnet. Amethyst's voice sounds way off. Strangely enough I think Amethyst's VA would have been a better match for Peridot if she softens the rasp in her voice. And yeah Peridot's VA is an awful match too. Lapis's voice is in my ears pretty unpleasant to listen to, like she screams from both the outside and inside. Which is fitting too for her character on the other hand. Jasper first had a male VA, but they fixed it later on and her new VA sounds like it's the perfect match.
