he just means there are parts of Supergirl - probably the female experience in general - that he doesn't get, so he is doing his best to try and speak to others and listen to feedback. Virgil is good comic about a black gay Jamaican and is immersed in a totally different culture than Orlando's, but it rings true. He has a really great approach to this kinda stuff desu, his interviews on midnighter were good, smart guy who knows how to actually do real diversity and write characters not token points
I do wonder what direction they'll go. The outfit design is kinda... out of touch, something is very old fashioned combined with the hair.

I never really *got* supergirl as a character. I've read tons of her stories and she always seemed like a perpetual "young girl tries to be a superhero and barely does any good or sometimes makes things worse, but its okay because shes basically superman."
I always like the concept of a young superhero trying to do good, but the stories never feel all that interesting.
