I don't personally hate her, but i find her character boring in FC and DOFP. Mostly because they had to do an in universe retcon where now she doesnt really god bad. It'd be like if they also made it so wolverine is a super sweet feelsy guy who never says mean things and calls everyone sir.
One of the cool things about mystique that they never really got good in any of the movies was how she has this horrifying shifty morality. Where she sees the right thing to do but only sometimes does it. Sometimes she works on behalf of mutant kind, but often she is just in it for herself. and theres very little hesitation when it comes to sacrificing the innocent or outright killing them if doing so will accomplish her goals. Shes got some really shady scruples and it kinda goes with her power.
The movies however don't really address this and considering the actress playing mystique has become one of the franchises biggest draws i dont see them making her a bad guy anytime soon. Shes a sometimes blue katniss.
So i would rather them just get rid of her altogether and let some more interesting characters step in.
Honestly what I REALLY want is for them to just reboot the entire goddamn franchise and start from scratch because the events of x-men 3 quite honestly turned it into such a huge fucking mess it still never quite sits right with me.
