The quality of the first season wasn't amazing other than the finale, they spend most of it just introducing the recurring villains. The show still holds up though, it was always comfy watching.

What I can gather is that the creator of the original show, Mr. Warburton, tried to pitch a new Galactic KND show to Cartoon Network. Cartoon Network rejected it, saying they were not interested in action-oriented cartoons at that point in time. Then he uploaded the pitch to Youtube for the purpose of making it go viral and making Cartoon Network see the demand for more KND. A petition was made for it and everything, and last time I saw it it had about 60,000 - 70,000 signatures.

Fuck, at least Samurai Jack is coming back but in my honest opinion I think the perfect trifecta of nostalgiac comebacks would be Samurai Jack, GKND and Courage but I guess that's not going to happen.
