Is it? I mean, there was kind of an arc about him trying to reunite with his father, but he only faced briefly the death of his father before being robbed of any attempt to confront it.
A bigger deal was with him realizing he hadn't done that much to actually help his friends and Dave and Rose had done the most of the job. All he had done was surviving.
He dealt with both the death of his father and his repressed anger of inadequacy when he faced Bec Noir in a Dream bubble, though.
Even later he was confronted with a misrepresentation of his friends's action and it upsetted him even more their courage and action were shitted on like that.
But dealing with his Father's death was more of a small arc.
