Good evening, /co/mrades. As we build to the finale of this acclaimed series, it's about time we look back to find where it all went wrong. So let's return to the beginning:
Time for a tale of terrorists...or are they freedom fighters?
This is Tom King and Barnaby Bagenda's "The Omega Men".
But let's not go to issue one.
Let's head just a teensy bit earlier...
An Eight Page Preview

When issue #10 comes out, a second storytime thread is inevitable.
VICTORY IS ASSURED
Note that this series has excellent page turn reveals.
I'll do that if deemed necessary to maintain awe.
But that's not gonna be a thing until issue 5
pardon the wait.

Man, Kyle is cool again.
Short break for water, folks.
SAVE THE PRINCESS
Not sure if I regret not getting the variants.
They make much more sense in retrospective.

I haven't really read DC since Flashpoint- Is this series... in character for nu52 Kyle? Like, I don't remember him ever being significantly religious, and like every other scene with him in this series seems to be him praying.
peace awaits you

I wish I picked up that issue of Convergence just for the preview.
>>81255786
If someone want to make a storytime when you're asleep ask that someone to post here.
>>81255781
Something I realized was that not just the last, but every issue has the mirrored panel layout. Sometimes I think King is too clever for his own good.
>>81254187
I think the point was he was turning to religion when he had no other choice.
anyone got the new issue?
>>81254187
Kyle technically is Catholic but it's never brought up often.
>>81253343
>it's about time we look back to find where it all went wrong
Wait, it went wrong? All I ever heard was praise for this series. I was planning on reading it, but if it sucks, I won't bother.
YES! THANK YOU OP! Only King I haven't read
>>81259594
Literally kill yourself niggga.
>>81254187
>>81259214
He's Irish-Mexican so he's of course Catholic but he never really practiced in it much during his run. King just brought it back from obscurity.
>>81253465
Reading that intro again after reading all the issues out and then seeing this cover, it's just too great.
I cannot imagine how upset editorial and King himself have to be that this wasn't a blow-up hit, I mean, I'm pissed off by the fact.
I hope trades of this remain in print forever.
Praise Omega!
YAWN
Good morning /co/!
Just woke up, and a new issue is out!
>>81255786
Now where were we...
>>81260382
>Waddling off as fast as central city lightning
I think that might be a reference lost on most people in space.
>>81260430
Who IS the narrator? I read the issue and I still can't tell, am I retarded
>>81260447
>am i retarded
...maybe
The white boxes are the Chairman of the Galaxies Committee. The purple boxes are the Viceroy of the Citadel. They're having a screencasted conversation, as seen in the middle panel.
>>81260447
Bigger interplanetary honcho that wants that MacGuffin Fuel
>>81260538
>>81260551
>reversed panels
POTTERY
>tfw someone in the Batman thread said that the Viceroy represents some of the decisions that King had to make in the CIA
oh Tom...
>>81260616
Well, that's it for Omega Men 10!
Tune in next month for the penultimate issue!
>>81260603
Wait...I thought Kalista was a bad guy? Why does she get a happy ending?
>>81260781
Because she is best waifu
Banging Kyle doesn't make her evil anon
>>81260524
>The white boxes are the Chairman of the Galaxies Committee
Yeah but why does he make a reference to the Flash? And why does he sound like a southerner
>>81260382
>>81260404
>using a pink sword
He still loves Kalista
>blue pistols
>Scrapps is hope
2 cute
>>81260927
Not to mention that he's feeding of Tigorr's rage and Primus' fear of actually killing people.
>>81253343
Oh wait, I thought this thread was for an Omega Red ongoing.
>>81260927
Primus's guns are also yellow.
>>81260538
>>81260551
This use of the panels is really impressive and Kyle just observing the scene is a simple, but effective way to convey the point
>>81260449
Man it sucks to be Primus.
>>81261060
This is better than an Omega Red ongoing, anon. Pull up a chair and read with us.
>>81260874
It does make her a dead woman walking.
>>81260874
>banging kyle doesn't make her evil.
Of course not, it's her bloodlust that makes her evil.
>>81262244
But she uses her bloodlust for good!
>>81260927
I can't decide if Kyle has the best taste in women or the worst.
>Jade
>Donna
>Carol
>Kalista
I am not all caught up on current cosmic DC status quo - what exactly is the white lantern powerset? Just different coloured constructs?
>>81262823
It's source manipulation.
>>81262474
>Jade
>Not a top tier Waifu before Raab turned her into a cheating slut
